Mmmm, take a break and the world changes on you. Cal shook her head at her new assignment.
While she had reported the new breakthrough and then left to take a well deserved nap, several things had happened seemingly at once.
Ivalia had tried a bit of hacking from her already hacked and baited computer, and whatever she was trying to do had been screwed up by some blocks Cal had wisely placed. Ivalia had been trying to hack OZ's database, and Cal's own blocks and OZ's precautions had saved it. But what she had been working on was a slight mystery. Still, OZ decided to ignore this lapse of faith and let her continue working, while increasing Cal's time at figuring out this girl.
Upon being forced to watch survallance tapes (a boring job if she had ever had one) of both the house and the base, Cal noticed a certain.... frostiness from the normally happy and compliant teacher towards a new student. Unable to make out the words, Cal continued watching tape after tape while searching for information at the same time. What popped up on her screen was definitely surprising. It seemed that the new trainee had vanished from civilization. The last record of her was an hour shot on the tapes of her working on a computer. Amazingly, a suit had been stolen from the hangers that very night. Cal's eyes narrowed. She was onto something. Something interesting at least.
Cal sighed and reached to turn off her laptop, ready for a quick dinner and uninteruppted sleep. But it bleeped at her obstinately, demanding her attention. One of her search programs had paid off... someone was accessing the database from a remote location. Renewed with glee at the chase and eventual catch, she set to work typing again, discomforts forgotten.
