Who is the Half Blood Prince?

I've read the book now and it too surprised me who it was. I'm not going to name the person for those that have not had chance to read HBP. What a shocker eh??

It came as a real shock the first time, but on re-reading the book, there were quite a few clues pointing to the person's identity.

Re-reading the book??? I've only just finished it, it took me about 6 days to read BUT my excuse is I'm a busy mom with a part time job and kids to look after LOL. I might re-read it at some point.

Read it in 6 hours on Saturday, then reread it on Sunday. Not one of my most productive weekends.

Well, the biggest clues were that the name was written in a potions textbook, and the time period that someone owned it. This person must be especially good at portions.

Also, you could only really cure that Spectumsempra curse so quickly, if you invented it yourself.

Given all that, I didn't guess either.

i did actually twig who it was towards the end which made me feel quite chuffed with myself beacuse I never normally catch on to the clues JK sticks in. It was only a few pages before he was revealed though!

i have to admit that i had no idea, but when i found out i wasnt suprised at all. though i am suprised that the prince wanted a nickname in the first place:rolly2:

I didn't figure it out either but like Tim I wasn't too surprised. I was a little disappointed, I dunno, just wanted someone different I guess.
