A New Game! (hopefully)

You know how the old panel quiz game works on TV. I was thinking that 'Star Trek' has shown us 1,000's of characters now, and they haven't all been Starfleet officers, there have been some really weird and unusual occupations.

So you need to determine the occupation of the character I'm thinking of, by asking questions, one at a time. You can only get yes or no answers, and you don't need to guess the actual character or his species, though in some cases that might help you.

I'll start off, the person who guesses correct can take over.

Okay, what's my line?

I was confused for a bit - b/c we have a game in the Buffy section with the same title, but it's quotes and you guess the next line. Not sure if there's one of those in ST or not -

anyway --

I'll get this ball rolling with a pretty typical question -

Are you in Starfleet?

(as 'Starfleet' wouldn't be the occupation, just narrowing down what your job might be ;))

I'm not a member of Starfleet, but I work for Starfleet.

(We have a 'Quotes' game in ST forum already, I didn't know about the Buffy forum game -- should I add something to this thread title to distinguish between them?)

(dunno - I had to put in the thread title in Buffy that it was a game b/c there is an episode of the show with "What's My Line" as a title - and I think your description in the 1st post is good enough)

next question:

Do you work on a Starship?

Does Starfleet refuse to acknowledge the validity of your work?

Hooray!

Yes, I'm a quartermaster of a junkyard on Qualor II.

(see 'Unification I' TNG)

That means it's your turn.

I think that maybe we should forget what I said about 'yes or no answers' as it seems to be hard enough even giving huge clues.

 I was planning on just watching this thread till I got the hang of it, but I couldn't pass that one up. Does it have to be an actualy job or what they were?

"actual job or what they were"? -- not sure what you mean.

I could give examples but that would spoil people from using them, but yes 'quartermaster of a junkyard', first officer, starship captain, ambassador to Earth, etc. There are hundreds of primitive planets visited with obscure occupations as well as hi-tech jobs in the Federation.

Ok what I was thinking about won't work then because it's not an actual paying job. I've come up with another though.

What's my line?

No, I do not work aboard a Starship, though I have been known to help on one from time to time unrelating to my job.

I hope I'm doing this right
