Laurel Hamilton...

I have not read her. I noted the typo. I make many and do not correct unless offensive. I am me here I am.

She is one of the authors I read purely for entertainment value....people that read with serious intend would probably not enjoy her fiction.

I think I've read something by her. Was she in love with a werewolf? It was a long time ago and I don't remember much.

Yep, she was. That would be Richard...
All in all her books are a fun read I think.
She has a new series out that has a lot of faery lore woven through it...I like those even better than her Anita Blake books.

How do you think Laurell Hamilton compares to Anne Rice or Buffy? I've got a friend who's into Buffy loads and if you think so I could recommend Hamilton to her.

It's widely known that she writes 'romance' under another name. I don't think she does it to avoid embarrassment, only to keep the two genres separate so they don't get clouded or grouped together. She definitely doesn't want her vampire books put on the romance shelves in the bookstores.

I've read all of the Anita Blake series. Amusing, quick reads, the type of books you want to read if you don't want to think too much.

I really enjoyed reading everything up through *Obsidian Butterfly*. The next after that was much too strong on the sex, though, and I couldn't get into it.

Then I wouldn't suggest reading her Merry Gentry series Michael, it's highly sexual :)

True. I read the first one. I liked it well enough, but I did have to force myself to get through some of it!:D

Hamilton's depiction of the Sidhe was quite interesting, however, and the sexuality seemed to fit for the most part.

I have just started reading the Anita Blake series and finding it good, light entertainment :) I sometimes can't be bothered with a hard going book so I think Hamilton is just the key.

I really like her Merry Gentry series too, there are only three books out so far for that series, and I've got the bk 1 and 2.
