Kind of silly, but its stuck in my head...

I just want you to listen to that ONE song! It doesn't matter who it's by! I just think it fits with Arya at this point.

I totaly agree with you weirwood. I heard it
just yesterday on the radio and remembered
your post.
For all those who do not think it fits:
look here for the lyrics and here for the song.

TK, you forgot Rush!

As far as rock bands go, according to the Recording Industry Association of America, only the Beatles, the Stones, KISS, and Aerosmith have had more consecutive gold and platinum albums in the US.

I stand humbled and speechless as it took a fellow crackpot theorist from Colorado (a better one than me I will admit) to bring to my attention a band I worshipped as a teenager...I hopefully will live this one down someday.

I guess Paul Anka distracted me ;)

I also forgot to mention JD Fortune and Lukas Rossi, the 2 winners of Rockstar.

Continuing off topic...

I've seen Rush twice in Colorado, both times outdoors... Rush is awesome in concert.

We will now resume our regularly scheduled posting...

SW: You're really sincere about this song, aren't you? So much that you typed out the lyrics...That's sweet...a real tear jerker of a song.

OK, let's all agree that this is Arya's song and we can go back to debating unimportant details and reading Shogun while we wait for ADWD.

Frankengregor / Uncat / Beric etc, etc, but mostly Cat: Bring me to life, evanesance
Sandor: Mr Lonely

This may be in terrible taste, but Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" could be applied to several ASOIAF characters! After all Sandor has been burnt and may well be burning metaphorically for Sansa...
And the BWB - The Door's 'Riders on the Storm'.
Cersei - Garbage - "Wicked Ways" - and the lyrics fit, IMO :)
Example:

I tried hard to mend my wicked ways
Acted like a lunatic for years
Lord knows I try to be good
I'd keep my promises if only I could
You count your blessings that I can't rely on you

That sinking feeling
When you are leaving
All I believed in
Walks out my door

Oh, and Halford's "The One You Love To Hate" for Jaime. If there are any heavy metal fans out there.

Oh, and Monster Mash for either Frankengregor, the others, or the Red Wedding (It was a graveyard smash...)

Sorry for the double post. I should probably wait till I've got them all.
Anyway, Bang Bang (my baby shot me down) for Yggrette. 'he wore black and I wore white, and he would always win the fight...'
Another One Bites the Dust for Arya.
Don't Fear the Reaper for the Faceless Men.

Just been listeing to the Arctic Monkeys and a song that could have been written for Ygritte:

Still Take You Home.

If only for the line - What do you know? You know nothing! :p

I realize I am resurrecting an old thread, and I also realize the thread was meant to be playful....but....

I so hope that in the HBO production, we dont have a Rock n' Roll Westeros. The idea of Renly riding up to Storms End with "Rock you Like a Hurricane" would pretty much kill it for me.

Now the Cliche would be to go to Dead Can Dance for the soundtrack, but that could be very exceptable. But then Martin makes no mention of music being so involved, Musicianship tends to be more solitary Minstrels.

But a simple harp piece will not add tension to a battle seen I'd imagine.

I'd imagine the soundtrack will be a mix of orcehestral and Lute and Harp peices.

For large battles I would think a simple percussion score would be terrific....if youve seen Battlestar Galactica (the current series, not the old one) then youll know theres a certain visceral feel to the simple drum pounding they use....and if you havent seen Battlestar Galactica, what are you waiting on?

But if yer condemning a Heath Ledger quality soundtrack (ala a Knights Tale) then Im in aggreement...."We will rock you", while a wonderful stadium anthem is not something I want to see associated with this series.

I know this will sound contrary to my usual picky, finicky self, but I must say A Knight's Tale worked for me. To me, the rock music was not meant to be authentic... it was meant to replicate the emotions of the characters by tapping into our emotions through the readily understood medium of rock music. I found the music allowed me to quickly empathize with the people and circumstances, i.e. the story became authentic to me through unauthentic means.

That said, I do not want ASOIAF to be done in Rock 'n Roll. AKT meant nothing to me before I popped the DVD in... I had not invested time and imagination (nor had I spent too many hours posting on the Chronicles Network) into AKT. Therefore I was able to let it be what it was on screen. Yet, I am mentally captivated with ASOIAF, emotionally involved in it, and apalled at the amount of time I've spent hashing and rehashing it. I think it should be taken seriously in it's presentation on screen.

I liked the Ygritte/Jon thing, it works even better then in kill Bill.

As for going a knight's tale, i doubt it would work on Asoiaf.
Still i liked that movie, it was just funny stuff medieval way.
The golden years and the He comes from Gelderland thingie was just perfect for that movie.

Amen brother on both points. I prefer a simpler score than A Knights Tale (although I love Bowie). Take the Red Wedding scene and the way GRRM describes it with the high pitched, confused music which would work much better than Queen's Another One Bites the Dust
