I read all 9 in about a week 
I really enjoyed them and they filled in the gap waiting for the next Dresden (Jim Butcher) or Otherworld (Kelley Armstrong) books
They are far better than the Twilight series. I saw the first few episodes of True Blood before reading the books and while I enjoyed the show the books are much better and I'm not really interested in catching series 2. I agree Paquin was an odd choice for Sookie
