After Lucas dies, do you think they'll be more Star Wars?

Self explanitory. I really want to see the EU come to life, ESPECIALLY Knights of the Old Republic.

I'm also hoping that the seen where Greedo shoots and misses point blank will be put back the way its supposed to be. This is one time I DEMAND fanservice.

Also, I don't like the end of Phanton Menace. Let Ani win the pod race, that's cool. But 'accidentally' flying into the gaddmned command ship and blowing up is two F***ing FAR!

Anywho, what's your thoughts.

I have come to accept the movies as they are. They are still my favourites and yes, I even enjoy Episodes 1, 2, and especially 3 but nothing's perfect. I'm way pass all the moaning about this scene or that character and would rather look at the series as a whole.

Anyway, when Lucas kicks the bucket, Star Wars will live on but in terms of new stuff, it depends on the success of the two planned tv series.

I suppose the big difference with Lucas is that he owns the rights to the Star Wars universe. It's not as if Universal, or anyone else, can just "decide" to continue to make more films without legal say so from his estate.

It all depends how much George considers it his sandpit to take with him when he goes...

There we go. My first post. Whoo hoo

um, Star Wars will probably continue in the near future, just not as movies. The TV show seems a pretty sure thing. For movies, I'd rather see a new young director come up with a new sci-fi (real sci-fi, not space fantasy) world than revisit the SW galaxy.

well, everything in the eu has to go through george lucas first, he can change anything in books and games etc.

besides, its not like hes gonna die soon

and he'll choose someone to have the rights to star wars when that time comes

Unless there's some fresh news that I haven't heard, George Lucas is only in his early sixies. With modern medicine and enough money to pay for it he should easily live another 20 years or more. Anybody here reading at a high school level or better will be pushing 40 by then. I'd count on him changing his mind two or three more times on what he going to do and doing 2 or 3 more things before I'd count on him dying and someone else aquiring the rights and reacting to it.

what i want to know is how the hell can Jar-Jar go from being a bumbling idiot in ep.1 to a senate leader in ep.3 and to a superimposed bumbling idiot/ senate leader again (v.briefly) at the end of ep.6

I wouldnt mind seeing KOTOR as 3 movies, and with George Lucas gone it might actually be done well.

I dunno - guess it depends if he's slain by a rabid star wars fan who's just watched the three prequels :p

Slightly more seriously, no doubt they're be some elements 'homaged' in other movies but I doubt we'll see another official "Star Wars" one unless George recants on his deathbed :)

If people are still going to the cinema in 30 or 40 years time, I'm sure they will remake Star Wars. Or maybe it will become some kind of "Holo-novel"?

Otherwise, it will continue as it has done as books, TV series and games such as 'Star Wars - Battlefront'.

Lucas has said time and time again there will be no Episodes 7,8 & 9 and he is not likely to die soon. Unless he becomes seriously poorer I can't see him changing his mind on that. But I think there could be enough material to make a film about Han Solo and Leia's children.

I've lost count of the books already, there are quite a few good storylines and skiled authors doing work on them. There is also a large group of unskilled authors hoping to make a name for themselves through it and failing rather badly. Although It is a good universe to write and read about, It will eventually be superseded by another one.

the whole thing with "will there be more star wars" after lucas dies !!! well he has a son and i no that he has taken a lot of interest in his father's work .. but rele will they be the same ! everyone fan will no the diffferances .

everyone knows that his original plan was to release 9 and the scripts have been written but they cnt cast harrison ford, carrier fisher or mark hamil unless they fast forwarded the years a lot which they could do but it wouldnt fit the stories that have been published and would you accept new actors.

my uncle who lives in OZZZ works at the Lucas HQ have heard rumours that he is conflicted about doing the movie because the story has neatly been finished and he wants the last 3 to be livd in the books and games.
if he released them in film he would probably outsell every film ever released in the first day.

i would the eu to be put in film esp the knights of the republic because then we can c the resemblance of our unique games with the films because kotor 1 and 2 were independatly played and there was no right or wrong way so i cnt wait !!!!

reply further plz !!!

i no exactly wat u mean some of the writers bring shame to the legacy and some books are annoying boringly and missin details and plots !!!

The 3 recent films were dispointingly Spiritless and lacking in magic of the first 3, I think there'd be even less hope of an equal to 'The Empire Strikes Back' in 40 years time :(

I certainly hope there won't be more films. I'm eagerly awaiting more games though. KOTOR I and II were both great, and I'd much rather see people work their magic in that area, than attempting sequels to the original story. Jedi Academy was enough.
But if anything has to happen, I pray it'll be after Lucas has left us, because he is, in my honest opinion, a terrible director.

I was hoping that before doing a KOTORIII they might fix the horrible bugs and story ending from KOTORII, but they won't, so I just hope that they won't release it before the programmers have finished with it this time.
