Well its easier for me whose fav authors are mostly SF,Fantasy,Horror.

I usually say I don't really have favorite authors; I just have favorite books. But that isn't completely true. There are some that I really do hold in high esteem. Unfortunately, other than Edgar Poe, they're all SFF. There's a few things I read in school that I enjoyed, though. I guess I'll give this a shot:

Edgar Allen Poe (of course)
Toni Morrison
Marjani Satrapi (do autobiographical graphic novels count?)
Apostolos Doxiadis (another graphic novel )

I confess: I've only read one book by each of the last three, but all three were very good!
