I've read these books and really enjoyed them! I wonder if you have read them and what do you think?

I love her discription and the flow of her writing, seen as she is also a poet her poems/songs in the book are worth reading unlike some other fantasy writers *Cough*Tolkein*Cough*

Though her books contain the whole 'Vunerable girl rescued by a charming older man later on falls in love' yarn, i think it really worked..?

i've read The Gift and The Riddle, and I've started The Crow. I really like the series of books, for easy reading, and i agree that her description is good, but sometimes the story can slow in places.
haha, tolkien isn't that bad. i loved gollum's riddles, but i guess that isn't proper poetry... well kinda.
ahhh well i didn't mind that cliche... i'm a bit of a softy, i really fell for it! i was totally gutted when he died, well kind of. he didn't really.
still, they have a good place near the top of my bookcase *i catagorise by favouritism :)*

Hehe! Yeah i suppose. YOUR GIVING TOO MUCH AWAY! *Looks around* See's we're the only people in the thread'thingy ='o, Okk. *Hides the 'he didn't really' bit* :D Anyway i haven't got round to reading the Hobbit yet.. The Hobbit? is that right, the whole films thing has comfused me? :S i hate when they do that, change the names of films of books in another country. :l ..Anyway, Yay! Someone else liked it.. Don't give up on The Crow 'cause i started reading it and when i realised Maerad would not be in this one i gave up, but resently went back to it and enjoyed it thoroughly! I'm a total M<3C fan but Hem is equally intresting and the new character Zelika.. it's so sad..

 sorry will stop with the spoiling! ahh ive read the hobbit, it's really good, except i know what you mean, tis a bit confusing! the hobbit comes before the lord of the rings trilogy, and they are set in the same sort of time and place, but different stories... mm that really doesn't help much does it! :) i think it's a good idea to read the hobbit before reading the lord of the rings, because the hobbit is kind of like an introduction to the story, and it has some history in it, makes the trilogy seem less confusing.
i know, i thought the same, because i really liked maerad, but i will start it again and see. zelika? grr this makes no sense whatsoever, so now i will have to read it to understand what you're talking about!
:)

xD Harrharr! Well i'ma readin' 'ze Artemis Fowl stuff so as soon as i've finished those i'll read The Hobbit again. mhm -nod-

I saw these books the other day and had a quick read of the blurbs and stuff - they looked pretty interesting.

Yay! Yes they are proper good lyk. I went to Waterstones and looked around for a new Fantasy book when i came across this one and passed it by thinking the cover was rubbish. And couldn't find a better one so i went back to this one and read the first few pages, i couldn't buy it cos i couldn't afford it and my sister wouldn't buy it for me so i'm ashamed to say i left the shop crying. ;'] The next day i went back and bought it. Oh, yes i loved it, and the blurb doesn't do it any justice it's so much more than a slave-girl finding powers it really does contain adult elements and deep ..'ness. mhm. I advise you to run to your local shop RIGHT NOW *Realises it's 19;55* .. TOMMOROW. - nod -

I don't like the cover.. nuh-uh..

What would you suggest for other covers?

.. The only thing that comes to mind is the lyre.. lmao

ATTUALLY you could have a birds eye veiw of Innail.. oh.. Ok it's not bad..

..

There is a 4th book being written at the moment, not due for a while but should be really good. I think they get better each time.... covers are always tricky; I dont like covers that show the characters, cos they're never how I imagine them, so just feathers and lyres etc work for me...

yeah, the harry potter film totally ruined what i thought everyone would look like, and what hogwarts would be like.
and, of course, i prefered it the way i thought it should look.
the harry potter films werent bad though.
i agree with the whole no covers on the front thing.
for different covers of the books, i dont know, i liked the one's they used!
a birds eye view of innail would be useful though, to kind of keep track of where they are. i know they put maps at the front, but i can never be bothered going back to check them after every chapter.
is it just me, or is it a pain?

Yeah, what would be great would be a map you could download and printout if you wanted one....

hi, i loved the Gift - and have just ordered the other 2 - cant wait to read them - but have to read the first one again as it was about 4 years ago i read it! hope i like it second time round.... has anyone read The redemption of Althelous? thatrs one of my favs.

Ive read the first 3 books of this authors series, got The Crow when it came out and really enjoyed that :D

hey, i've read all three that are out, and i think the first two are excellent, although the third one was a disappointment, because i wanted it to be the end or Maerad's story and it *wasn't*. grrrrr. does anyone know when the singing will be out?

I like these books, but I didn't like the change of POV in the crow. But It was still good.

I've read the 1st 3 books in the series and can't wait til the next one's out... I thought they were really good - really interesting storylines and twists in the plot, marvellous detail, good variety of characters/places and everything...

The bit that confused me was when Alison Croggon said the books were a 'translation of the Book of Pellinor' like it's a real thing hehe, I thought she was being serious that there really is/was an actual place with Bard's and magic and everything hehe

:D Lol yes i know! I didn't like them at all! I suppose its a good idea though.. for those who like all the extra information.
