The final Imperial book now has a cover image. It still has all the lettering to put in place, but I thought you might like a taste of what's to come. Here's the raw image to give you a feeling of what the cover will look like. Once again, Geoff Taylor has managed to capture the imagery in dramatic fashion. What do you think?

Spooky! Striking colors, and the faces in the dark rocks are scary. Really catches the eye!

Wow - this really brings to life the image I had in my head of the Assassins' Guild HQ from proofreading Imperial Assassin. A great piece of work - Geoff has definitely done it again!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think once the lettering is in place it will compliment the other two covers very nicely. Once again, there will be an animal icon as part of the title - this time it will be a leaping panther which will form the 'T' of Traitor. All I have to do now is finish writing the story! Nearly there - only about another 2 weeks to complete the draft I would say. :)

oooh, a panther! can't wait to see that one :D the lettering on the other 2 covers is spectacular. (I actually got someone to read it once when they were impressed by the artwork, and then in awe of the texturing!)

interesting, doesnt give much away as to what the storyline will be either

Well, it's not quite as I'd imagined it, but I think the art director at S & S has an excellent instinct for cover art. I'm aware that sounds a bit pompous coming from me, as I can't draw an egg, but I like the finish is what I was trying to say. :)

Well it IS very striking and that's the goal of cover art I guess.
The panther or whatever it is forming the "i" is pretty good too ;)

wow, i like the panther! I was wondering where he'd fit it in :D

Geoff Taylor has an impressive resumé, i just checked out his website. His covers compliment your books well :)

It does look very cool.. the font itself is great, as is the panther within it - I like the idea of that :D

That certainly is Tres Bien.
Man, my French is terrible…
How much control do you get over the cover of your books, Mark? Do you get to pick the artist, or chat to him about what you want? And do you get a copy of the original sent to you as a framed freebee? I think the Imperial Assassin cover would look great on a wall.

Totally off topic Mark, but I also put in a preorder for the Timepieces anthology as well. Fingers crossed I get to be one of the lucky few! :)
