The Seven, the Seven and the Seven

Boaz for our leader!!!
NO! NO! NO! I refuse to accept any resposibility! The wonderful thing about tiggers... is that they can change direction and change their minds without repurcussions.

They're also extremely irritating when bouncing all over the place.

Boaz, you may have something here but I have said earlier that I don't think it coming down to a holly war is the ending I envisiaged for the series and not the one I would favour either.

The Throne is destined for a *******.

Of course its not coming down to a Holly War.....what did holly ever do to anyone except deck the halls, and be a part of a jolly christmas? Dont post such silliness.

Well there ya go.....Neil Diamond is the "Other".....solved that riddle. Hold yer applause, just send money.

Oh man....totally decimated over one extra "L". Of course, if this Holly is more of the Dany, Cersei or Melissandre types, that could lead to war.

Ok...

Boaz, as you say Arthur - green is stretching it a bit, but the recurance of seven and three is interesting.

So is this holly war. How does that work, exactly? Is it like a nuclear war, except instead of using nuclear missiles, they attack each other with pointy leaves?

FW, thanks for staying with earlier post. I'd like to discuss serious crackpot theories and not get lost in ridiculous and obvious trolling by Aegon!

Aegon, how dare you call Neil Diamond the Other?!?! He's the greatest musical talent... ever! You are unworthy to even utter his name. Yeah, that's right... you all shall not even dare to speak his name. He will be the nameless one. With the overproduced, overpackaged, and undersubstantive junk on the radio in the last twenty years, the Nameless One has been driven from the warm, fuzzy and happy lands. He has been relegated to the frozen wastelands of the forgotten. Kids today don't know who he is... they think he's some evil myth. But the Nameless Frozen One will return to destroy the walls of prepackaged, synthetic junk... yes, he will. So in conclusion (let me just review my post)... oh no! I don't believe it... Neil Diamond is the Other!

I'm neither a girl nor a woman. I'll be what I am... Solitary Man.

By the way Neil was seven when he wrote his first song. He has had seven number one hits in the US. He's been in seven movies. He is the eldest of seven children. In 1977, he was named recording artist of the year. He did seven TV specials in the late 70's and early 80's. He is backed up on tour by seven musicians. He has seven toes on his left foot. He is currently seventy-seven years old. He has seven tatoos... all on his posterior. He's had seven dogs... they are all now stuffed in his living room.

Boaz, so the seven in Westeros works, but what about the others.

Old Gods and children of the forest.

Symbolism goes to the 7 but the logic (I hope) in Martins world goes to the old gods.

What makes you think I'd know what any of this means? I just a verbose, pedantic, loud, opinionated, self-righteous fan boy who likes to speculate. When you want facts and future story development go to Werthead. When you want solid analysis of character development and plot devices go to Raven. When you want technical assessment of military tactics and logistics go to Aegon.

My last post was the most incoherant i wrote, and my apologies.

But, I'll try to explain a bit. Boaz, I like your analogy of the 7 regarding the outcome of the Post-Tommen King of Westeros. However, in my opinion it does not necessarily also solve the issue with the Others (capital O), and the Others seem to (thus far) seem to be answered better by the children of the forest and the old Gods, than by the seven. Each theology may solve the issue that applies more to them depending on which side of the wall they are needed.

Martin doesn't seem to have a one true faith scenario (yeah logic was a horrible choice of words) as most clearly shown with the faceless men.

ermm just a thought not a manifesto

The theory is crazy and slightly nonsensical....but thats okay, that phrase describes Boaz almost to the letter.

Its the reach with the Kingsguard that does ya in.

Problem is I dont see it as a struggle between the Seven and House Targ. Those are the Targs deities as well right?

Thank you.

Yeah, I know. I was hoping you'd help me with this!

Maybe, the Seven has/have withdrawn divine favor from the Targs. Each Chinese dynasty claimed to have divine favor ie. The Mandate of Heaven. Perhaps, the Targs really lost their heavenly mandate.

I might just adopt this as my sig.

Posting drunk may not be my problem, reading posts while drunk may be the problem...

Btw, I made up all that stuff about Neil Diamond and the number seven...

Also, I like the way you guys can joke around and not take this banter personally.

Merry Christmas to all!

Regarding Neil Diamond: "It is known"

He is all three heads of the dragon.
