Possible new reader

No, not Robin Hobb, that was Fool's.. something else. The Liveship Traders, the Farseer Trilogy, and the Tawny Man, that was it. That trilogy was called the Tawny man.
I can see how you could make that mistake, but the Fools Gold refers to iron pyrite, not Beloved. The last book was called the Rose of the World. I don't remember any other names, but I remember the story.
 
Jude Fisher. I think I read a sample of the first book and wasn't grabbed by it. It had very similar covers to the Liveship Traders books and a similar nautical theme, so the confusion is understandable.
