If Bronn was smart enough to lighten his armor to outquick Ser Vardis, would he not be smart enough to armor up to crush Syrio?

I have to think about this, I'll vote later.

Both are cerebral fighters, this would be one hell of a showdown. I need time on this one as well.

Bronn is one tough SOB, I like Syrio but Bronn in my opinionwould win in the end. The way I see it is if they are both fully armored then Syrio would lose any advantage he would have had in quickness. If Syrio chose not to go fully armored then Bronn is not dumb enough to chase him around and wear himself out. Bronn is a stone cold killer, I just don't see him making stupid mistakes.

Gotta go Bronn.

I just can't get the idea out of my head of Bronn grabbing that shaft from syrio and beating him down with it. Syrio is fast but, Bronn wants his paycheck. It is ... nnnooooo!

Does anyone else envision Bronn to look a little like Sawyer from LOST?

I guess this was a waste of a vote!

If Syrio turns up alive and he in fact won that fight at the last place we saw him, as opposed to just escaping, then he is victorious here. Until something like that happens then I gotta go with Bronn.

Interesting note along this line, I wonder what this tourney would look like at the end of the series. New insights, new fighters, there may be a whole new line-up, or people gaining recognition due to newly revieled truths. Maybe Arya would be on this list. :)

Good post TS.

Do you hear that Wiggum? You're gonna need to do this again in ten years.

Agree that Syrio is invincible.

Bronn isn't as quick or suave as Syrio.

And to think Syrio tied in the last round......

The stage is (possibly) set for the Bravosi to be up against 3 kingsguard in the final four.

That may be true but I have a feeling that one doesn't get to be First Sword of Braavos without being the same. Syrio may seem like a kindly, eccentric old man but he didn't become what he was and survive as long as he did by being a pushover. Syrio reminds me of the stories of Miyamoto Musashi and the Book of Five Rings. He has that "I'm a master swordsman and will beat you with a piece of wood shaped like a sword" mentality.

On a tangential note, I don't think Syrio is dead. I think he is a survivor, like Bronn.

My vote goes to Syrio. For one reason: Experience. You really think that if Bronn gets cagey and suits up in some armor that a man like Syrio won't do exactly what Bronn did inthe Aeyrie? Or some other clever thing? Warriors with Syrio's experience have seen just about every trick in the book.

I completely agree with Storm, Syrio is a Master, dpon't let his dancing fool you, perhaps Bronn is the epitome of ruthlesness, but in duel he would not get near Syrio.

Centurion, I beg to differ.

In Syrio's only fight, in the series, he is pitted against Ser Meryn Trant. Ser Meryn did not make this tourney, but even so he presumably killed Syrio (though he only had a wooden sword).

In a closed space, against an opponent in full steel plate, Syrio may be in serious trouble. I don't know that Bronn or Meryn would care if Syrio's foil touched them because it would not pierce their armor. They would gladly put themselves within range of Syrio's sword so that they could freely hack away at him.

Then again one man, a patient man, an observant man, a man with perfect balance and lighting reflexes would stand a chance against one metal encased foe, where an army of braavos would not stand a chance against an army of knights in full plate.

I have to think that Bronn would know the reputation of a First Sword of the Sealord of Braavos. And we know that Bronn continually judges all men's fighting abilities when he can.

But if we define all of these participants as "in their prime", does that mean that Bronn is a poor sellsword or does he have access to Tyrion's treasury to equip himself all in plate?

I'll need to vote on this one soon.
