The Book You Stayed Up All Night For

the Curse of Chalion, Lois McMaster Bujold; it took me a couple of goes to get into it, but once I did, it was an all-nighter. also Transformation by Carol Berg.

there is no better feeling than greeting a new day with the closing of a really satisfying book.

but have you ever stayed up all night to finish a book even though it was quite bad? I did with the last Jean M Auel book. I've liked most of the earth's children, but this was all stone age cooking recipes and lover's guide for cavemen! Still read it in one go anyway (what does that say about me, then?) :p

I stayed up till 3 reading Geomancer by Ian Irvine. I have yet to deliver a final verdict but it has definately sparked my interest :)

Knights Wyrd By Deborah Doyle and John D MacDonald . My advise to anyone seeing this comment. Read this book . It's terrific emgorssinfg and fast paced.

the last one was Cormac McCarthy's "The Passenger" i had to read it, but i don't recommend it. it's completely nuts. the only thing i got out of it is that McCarthy deeply believed that the human race will eventually destroy the world with atomic weapons, a theme he's been peddling for a long time.
