What is your fav Japanese anime/manga?

I still hold a special place in my heart for Rurouni Kenshin, Gensomaden Saiyuki and Fushigi Yuugi, though the latter was just because I liked Tasuki. I liked El Hazard, Cardcaptor Sakura, Gatekeepers and...I can't remember the rest for now :D

I have to say, Rurouni Kenshin is one of my favourites, too. Never thought I'd see another El Hazard fan, though!:) Good to see!

Saint Seiya, hands down. ...Original Japanese, I mean. Can't stand the dubs. >_>

I don't have too many favorites: Ergo Proxy, Gankutsuou, Samurai Champloo, and Trinity Blood for anime. Blame! and Trinity Blood for manga. Blame! for the dark, serious far future hard scifi, and Trinity Blood for it's hilarity.

Azumanga Daioh and Ouran High School Host Club (anime) are guilty pleasures. :)

I found DNAngel by accident and loved it, but Escaflowne is a good older anime that I think would have to be my favorite. My husband started me watching Cowboy Bebop--didn't like it at first but now it's up there on my favorite's list. Inu Yasha was a passion for a while, until the fourth season and no real progress in the relationships between the characters.

My husband likes mostly mech-based stuff, so I get a lot of exposure to that. Finding things that are in line with my tastes is difficult. Too much "fan service" for the males. Some of the better ones he has that I like, besides CB, include Macross Plus and Full Metal Panic (minus FOMUFFU).

We have a lot of Miyazaki films in our collection too. Kiki and Howl are two of my favorites.

i havent watched too many anime. but i liked "akira", "ninja scroll", "Teknoman", and "dragonball z". most of the other ones ive seen are kids shows, but i do like anime and would like to watch more. just dont know what is good or not.

It depends on what genre you like really. For sci-fi action, I'd suggest Cowboy Bebop (but then I'm biased because I love that show) or Trigun, for samurai action, Rurouni Kenshin, for sci-fi drama I'd suggest Ghost in the Shell, for fantasy Escaflowne or Record of Lodoss War, etc..

What genres do you like? I'm sure that some of the people here would share some of their favourites.:)

Currently following both Bleach and the new Naruto Shippuuden. I download the fansubs for each of these and keep up with the latest episodes that way. Outside of that: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and Samurai Shamploo are all up there with my favorites.

Ghost in the Shell << Extremely well animated and the voice acting in it is great (although a little monotone whent alking about how the whole Ghost thing works)

At the moment I'd say Rurouni Kenshin and One Piece (subbed version) are probably my two favourites. Though Elfen Lied deserves a special mention, lots of blood and gore, but truly awesome.

At the moment, I am back into a Dragonball Z kick, even if the fights are sometimes mind bogglingly long. One of my all time favorite animes is Escaflowne, the series. Just make sure to watch the Japanese with English subtitles version. The English dub is pretty bad. My favorite non-committal anime (hence, for moods when I don't necessarily need to watch it in order) would be, hands down, Cowboy Bebop. It is amazing to think that, in Japan, the episodes didn't even get half of the series aired during the original run.

My favorite anime in which I have yet to watch the whole series due to a lack of an American release, is Dragon Quest.
