Graphic Novels into movies

I'm not sure which one I'd pick. I like the X-Men trilogy of films and Hellboy. The first Christopher Reeve Superman was pretty good too, as was Batman Begins. Looking at the titles in production, however, and it seems there are plenty to look forward to. Not just this year's Iron Man, but Watchmen, Thor, Magneto, Wolverine, Wonder Woman...

I just watched Superman Returns on tv and it felt like an insult despite im not a comic fan of Superman. The old Superman movies was cheesy but they did a good version of Superman mythos. Returns was only about effects yeesh.

I wish the trend could end some time soon....

Damn Spiderman movies despite the first two was good, their huge BO records is the reason for all this.....

Can't agree with you more Connavar :). The whole thing was just laughable...

Probably 300 or Sin City - both were excellent. I also really liked the first Blade movie. On the whole though, graphic novel adaptations tend to be dissappointing. The worst would have to be Constantine - whoever had the idea of casting Keanu Reeves should be tarred & feathered.

Blade I and Blade II were awesome.

It shows you can make a comic movie other than a clichè feast.

I watched THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK the other day and i'm sure i read somewhere that it was based on a graphic novel. Is this true? and if so how close to the novel is the fim?
I really enjoyed the film and eventhough i've seen quite a few films that were based of GN's I'd rate this as one of my fav's. Others would be 300, SIn city and Blade.

I don't think so. I believe it's written by the Wheat brothers who are screenwriters and not graphic novelists...

Wasn't The Matrix based on a graphic novel?

If so, I'd say The Matrix, and also, V for Vendetta and the Spiderman movies. I also liked Daredevil.

I know the storyboard was put together like a comic, but it wasn't made as a comic as far as I know...

The Matrix wasnt a comic.

You dont think it would be uber famous if it wasnt a comic first ?
