What is your favourite fight in all his books.

The best for me is in TKBTG, when Decado rides to Tenaka's aid against the Dark Templars. He places the lives of all the Thirty in his hands while the DT do the same for their leader. Then, even though the DTleader can read Decado's mind and predict his moves, he starts to feel fear because he's facing a surperior warrior who is to fast to react to. Absolutely the coolest fight ever.

Their are quite a few honourable mentions such as Skligannon v Agasarsis and Ironmask in White Wolf and against Decado in TSONAD. Rage v Voltan and Vorkas. Antikas Karios v the Krayakin. Kysumu's student after being taken over by another being fighting one of those beast things. Their are so many cool fights but Decado's I think is just the coolest.

I think its simple choice for me cause i have only read Rigante books so far.

I think the best fight/battle so far is when in sword in the storm. Connavar and Ruathain fight side by side and lead thier men against the Pannone and the Vars.

That was an amazin fight. As well as the last fight in the Gemmell series where it ends with Gaise being Shot, The Fight of the Legend Riders was good as well

The fight of the legend Riders?

Heh i like your av, our avs together looks like a set.

yep the Rigante are amazin
like u the rigante was the first series that i read
yh the legend riders are in the swords of night and day

lol while i think about it the fight of Grymuch and the knights of sacrifice was amazin as well

Of course Jaim rescue was the best fight in the hole series.

The only reason i didnt mention it was i thought the threadmaker was talking about battles.

Do you have the soft tradeback with that cover? I have that our both avs as covars for my copies of the books. The Midnight Falcon cover is the best though with Bane and the tiger.

I have seen the other covers for The Rigante books and they look so lame compared to these covers. You barely see anything.

Next time i go and buy a DG book, i will choose the one best looking cover ;)

To be honest with you I find this a hard one to pick, Id say perhaps go for the best overall battle in which case its probably going to be from Lion of Macedon when we see the Thebans kick Spartan backside with the best one on one combat being either one with Druss (where he fights Nogusha) or perhaps Skilgannon squaring off with Decado. Its so hard to pick just one, I have lots of favourites.

I like to think one of the most heroic scenes was when Beltzer announced himself to the Nadir in aQFLH.
other than that I lked when Durmast rescued Waylander from certain death. both good fights!

I know it isnt really described at all, but the fact that Pagan manages to deal out 9 joinings is pretty bloody incredible. Thats one hell of an effort.

Another one that isn't really described is the battle at Bel-azar. Only four men survived, and technically they won, even though they didn't beat the Nadir, Tenaka withdrew.

True. I'm still intrigued as to who was the better swordsman between Tenaka and Chareos.

Tenaka only withdrew because of the prophecy concerning "The Ghosts Yet To Be" didnt he? Not that Im trying to take anything away from the heroes of Bel-azar. I've got alot of respect for Chareos but I think Tenaka would have probably owned him. Chareos said himself that he had beaten faster and more skillful swordsmen, only thanks to his mental conditioning. I dont think that advantage would have applied against Tenaka. He was simply too good.

its not really a proper fisticuffs fight, but in the Lion of Macedon, at the generals games, when parmenion humbles leonidas.

yeah, i like that one...

The best fight scene is when Jaim rescued Aunt Maev. I haven't read to many scenes that show both sides of the fight with such intense emotion...but then again, I may also think that because of the heroic romanticism DG writes so well in that specific fight.

My favourtie are the ones containing Druss (axe cleaving throughbone, etc) and Morningstar, who I think was very realistic.

That was a great fight.

Yes the romantic heroism made it better. When you knew that Jaim knew what would happen if he went to save Maev but he didnt care one bit and wanted to sacrifice himself for her.

Thats the biggest reason Jaim is top three fav DG heroes.

I didnt know you were a Gemmell fan good to see that. You like only Rigante or have you read more of him
