Through Jordans extensive amount of characters, who is are your favorite(s)

Mine has to be Lan and Matt

Moiraine is my favourite because she's serious, purposeful and although I can't utterly agree with her motto "Duty above all", I truly admire her... well, as far as you can admire a fictional character :)
Speaking of characters, I just need to mention that Rand is awful...

I find the Forsaken/The Chosen as more dynamic and enjoy reading about them quite a bit. However, Thom and Matt have always been my fav's from the Heroic camp.

Another vote for Matt. His irreverent nature always brings a smile to my face although personally, it's his occassional glimpses into the 'lost' empires and histories which are the main reason I like his chapters.

Yet another vote for Mat, but I like Perrin, too, especially in the earlier books (although I'm not so fond of the extended rescuing Faile storyline)

yeah gonna have to cast my vote for Matt, he's probably the most fun character to read, and I think I like him best as a result.

I really dislike Mat! *ducks before rotten tomatos are thrown*

My favourites would have to be Elaida, Faile and Egwene! And Moiraine and Siaun! There are so many characters in these books, but those are my favourite of all!

And yes Rand is aweful!

Thom and Matt. Similar to Talysia I'd add Perrin in for the earlier books (he's return to the two rivers is still one of my favourite storylines) but the love triangle and rescuing of Faile have dragged on.

I don't mind Rand but one thing I really liked about him initially was that he wasn't this whinny little kid like alot of main characters start out in fantasy but if anything he seems to be more whinny now then when he left Two Rivers, although to be fair he does have a lot on his plate at the moment :).

***spoiler***

Mat for sure. He has unbelivable luck, he blew the horn of heors or whatever its called, he has a very cool anti-magic charm and a sweet spear-like thing. On top of that the dice in his head is just cool, plus he married that princess through an odd technicality. Whats not to love?

My favorite is Edgwene. She used to be a little too eager to please at first but (spoiler warning) after she became, and even a little before, Amrylin she sort of came into her own. I also really like Lan. And Mat too, of course. I think he's the most likeable charector. I used to really like Perrin too (golden eyes are just plain cool) but after he married Faile he became got kind of boring.
Speaking of boring, I really hate Rand. I think he needs to get slapped. On a daily basis.

Thom, I like Lan in terms of what he is but as a character to read about he's generally not the best. Julian's another I like. Elyas and Loial (sp) are two of my other favourites. though I'm not a big fan of any of the 'leads'.

I am Moridin.

My other favourites are Mat, and Nynaeve (yes, really).

I got quite emotional when Moiraine fell through the ter'angreal, though. Or rather, when reading her letter to Rand.

Ah, I forgot about Loial. I enjoy reading Loial's chapters, and he loves books almost as much as the average Chronicles member.:)

My absolute favorite is mat because he's awesome, funny, and gets out of the tightest situations. He's fun to read about, and I actually have made a roleplay character based on him, and that character does rather well.

My second favorite is Rand, and I don't care about the whiney-ness, that can be ignored cause he's freakin crazy and I think that put him into a "why is this happening to me" state. I like him cause if I could pick one ability out of the books, I would want to be able to channel that much of Saidin. I'd hate the taint, and the madness that ensues, but once that's gone I'd have a hayday. It would be great to just manipulate energy in such a way as to almost completely go around the laws of physics.

at least someone other than me actuallly likes Rand, but how is the whole "To live you must die." thing supposed to work out.

Well Lan of course. He's the "James Band" of all non-Power weilders. Death on two feet. The Asha'man, well more thier attitude. "They gloried in what the were." -Jordan. Mat all the way through. Just incouragable in a charming way.Perrin before his parasitic marriage to Faile. Rand and his many women. Woes and wonders.Thom and Moraine. As well as thier expeced adventures.(with Mat) Well I'm rambling, so, that will be all.

I love Mat, it's always interesting when he is about. Rand is okay, especially the battle scenes. Perrin is good too. Glad to see a whole section devoted to the author. I like the books a lot, struggled on the fifth but after that they were great. The length is a great thing too. The longer the better!
