What Ajah would you be?

Oh, what a weird mix I am! Heck, I've been a weird mix all my life.

I like the idea of a Battle Ajah, though. However, I'm not sure I'd like males looking out for me. If my head gets chopped off, then so be it. I don't need protection! :D

*is now wondering if Seph/anyone would mind explaining the white, grey, and red Ajahs too*

Or you could tell me to stop being so inquisitive.

First off, I have to say that this protection in no way implies weakness or inferiority! Quite the reverse! The Aes Sedai are very much in control of the partnership (they can compel the Warder, although most do not). They can channel, so they have serious 'magical' abilities. But in a battle, when there is flashing steel all around, and they are standing weaving the One Power, they benefit from having someone stop any of it from piercing them.

The White are philosophers, lovers of logic and truth. They to be very unemotional in their approach to things.

The Grey are mediators, ambassadors and experts in law.

And the Red....their purpose is to prevent another breaking of the world by hunting down men who can channel, and 'gentling' them (severing them from the Source) before they go mad from the taint on the Male half of the Source. This almost invariably kills them...slowly.

Ah, so now I know! Thank you! But... I kill? 55% of me likes murdering men?

Now how accurate are my results...? :D (Please, don't answer!)

Choose your target wisely, then.

Apparently, I like murdering men more than you do.

Then again, being Black, I daresay I like murdering everyone.

Ooh, so what do the Black Ajahs do? Are they assassins or something?

And yes, I would've betted that you, o one-winged angel who thinks he's blackened but isn't, would like murdering more than me.

Or perhaps your hidden colour is yellow. :D

*runs off*

Um, the Black Ajah serves the Dark One. They're assassins and more; whatever they need to be, in serving His purpose. They're not nice folk to have a cup of tea with....unless it's forkroot, of course.

And please don't ask me to explain that, 'coz I won't. :p

And I'm not yellow, you hear!

*rips a Gateway with the True Power to wherever Leisha has gone*

*withdraws her twin blades*

*pokes the vortex just as Seph is about to exit* :D:D:D

And yes, I was just about to ask what the forkroot is. Hmmm... Dark One, though? Is that His name? Isn't that... clichéd? Or does he have a normal name too, like Bill?

"The great and evil Dark One, Bill."

*melts the blades as he passes through*

His name is Bill, yes. :D

Or.....

Shai'tan.

Forkroot is tea. Drink some, it's nice.

I don't trust you, Seph. The tea is poisoned!

*withdraws Mith's whip, which she accidentally forgot to return*

Oh my! I forget that this is a serious thread, for a change. What will I look like, holding a whip?

*hides whip out of sight*

Shai'tan... I'm dubious about putting apostrophes in names; too many writers do that nowadays. I prefer Bill - it's nice and easy, and the worst man in the world shares his name, so he's in good company. :D

Um, I'm not off topic, aren't I? *hangs head in shame* I always get sidetracked! Sorry, Talysia!

You're definitely in Ultima Thule, as far as the topic goes, although I seem to have followed you there.......

Apostrophes are fine when there's a valid linguistic reason for them, but most people just throw them around to make things look 'exotic'.

But in this case, since it's obviously inspired by the Arabic Shayṭān, an equivalent in the Qur'an to the Christian Devil.....it seems fair enough. Jordan's Old Tongue does use a fair few apostrophes. If they're glottal stops or something, though, where's the beef?

Drink the tea!

Yes, that's my beef: when writers use apostrophes because it looks "exotic". Language doesn't work that way. Yet many authors ignore this! So now I just have an aversion to names with apostrophes in them, even if they're used correctly.

------------------------------------

Seph, you follow anyone into hijack land. You love chatting! :D

*makes mental note never to eat or drink anything offered by Seph*

What does the tea do? Would I die, or would I turn in to Paris Hilton?

I like the odd apostrophe, but I'm wary of them, for the reason you expressed.

And you make me sound so undiscerning!!! That is not true!!!!!

You would just sleep, nothing more. Just peaceful, relaxing sleep. Nothing so dreadful as your second option! ;)

Just sleep, you say? Not as in the everlasting sleep?

*amends mental note to "never to eat or drink anything offered by Seph if I've annoyed him, which is quite frequent"*

Just sleep, yes.

*cough*
And you might have a bit of trouble with your weaves until it wears off!

You have never annoyed me, Dark Warrior. :)

And the inevitable question: What's a weave?

Did I just hear a groan? Surely not, especially because I'm not annoying. :D

Is it like "weaving the magic"?

*looks at you sarcastically*

But annoyed is too strong a word, I think. You're.....challenging. ;):p

And yes, weaving the One Power, which of course involves weaving one or more of the Five Elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Spirit.

Ah, the One Power. Why do I get the word ring in my head when I read that? :D

Please tell me the One Power has a common name too, like The Yarn.

"...And Bill, the Dark One, weaves The Yarn, the One Power, as he creates some magical armour for his minions."

Seph, are you sure you meant "challenging"? I think you should have said "challenged". :D

People just call it 'the Power'.

The One Power is the proper, philosophical nomenclature.

And no, I didn't. You are challenging the accuracy of my expressions?!

You do realise you're in danger of being lynched by legions of adoring fans?! :D

And the ring in your head, well, I can't imagine.......you like rings?

Yes, I'm awaiting the lynching. :D

But I can't help it! I always believe in honesty, so I'm just expressing my honest opinions. Besides, debates can't happen if everybody believes the same thing.

Heh - I challenge everything (EA Games, anyone ;)). I have an inquisitive mind. I push the boundaries of life. I go where no (wo)man has boldly gone before. I ramble. I waffle. I digress.

*groans*

But yes, you have pushed the boundaries of life, and of 'on-topic posting', to their very limits!!! ;)

If everybody believed in the same thing, that'd be fine. As long as it was what I told them to believe.
