Not only should you be shot, (perhaps only in the leg to cause some pain but not kill) but then I believe a bit of hanging, drawing and quartering would suffice!

No, I'm only joking. As Ace says, you just might not have got 'round to reading his books yet. Hell, I've only recently started reading the Discworld novels myself. But they are damned good, I heartily recommend them!

It's OK, but widely discouraged.

I voted "no". Waste of ammunition to shoot everyone who hasn't read Pratchett. There are much more efficient ways of dealing with said people... such as throwing Pratchett books at them in the vain hope that they'll pick one up and read it. :)

I wan't to read them, But I can't readily got hold of them.
I guess I could get a Library card, There is a Library near my house!

Which gives the idea of mine much more merit. :D Why cause pain that could be associated with Pratchett by shooting in a leg, maybe, when you can throw a book at them, which hurts considerably less, AND solves the problem of the books not being readily available.

Ah...the beginning? :D

The Colour of Magic is the first Discworld novel. And has Rincewind in it, the best cowardly wizzard ever! :D

The beginning is usually nice...

The Colour of Magic.
Then The Light Fantastic.

Then you can either read the rest of the series in order (which is recommended) or just mix and match (not recommended, but still doable).

The first Discworld game, I think, is based on the book Sourcery. Well, one of them is, at least.

Could be, we may loose a couple of chron members that way!
How about locked in a room with said books and author and not come out until we have read and presented a book report!

Just read them, and then decide if the punishment was too severe!:D

Hey Well, some people aren't made for TP. I've noticed it at school, with those girls who are reading things like Jacqueline Wilson (I tried to read one once, to make a friend happy, It was positively awful:eek:) they've read the children's books like the carpet people, and maybe A Hat Full of Sky but they're not really into it. So you should decide for yourself if you should be shot or in any other way severely punished.

PS for those of you who chuckle. I prefer Mwhahahaha, but then again, that's my opinion.

Certainly not; you may ritually diembowel yourself if you so desire, or better, Dibble your own throat; but the correct punishment for not reading Pratchett is not to have read Pratchett.Said pumisment ends with the cessation of the crime.
And, more or less, grab any discworld book you can find, and you'll know straight away whether you're going to be addicted, or just find them silly (which they are. It's the "just" in that prase that is critical; for a Pratchett fan, the silliness is an essential part of the overall experience, but not the totality by a long shot) Some of the later "watch" or "witch" volumes, you might miss things because you haven't seen the characters evolving, but numerous people have started in the wrong place with no major difficulties.
Besides, the first two or three books weren't as well written as the earlier ones.
But don't be ashamed if you are one of those who does not apreciate pTerry; it's like colour blindness, it's unfortunate but rarely fatal, except at traffic lights.
