This is a good thread. Was challenged to come up with the following.

Story: War breaks out between differing philosophies of magic.

Character: Kylis's cloaks unite against evil king's tyrannical conquest.

Story: Queen Beatrice is kidnapped, rescued by her assassin.
Character: Qing is a young assassin looking for peace.

Other fantasy work:
Story: Stone circle goes missing. Village appears in woods.
Character: Gus is a wizard, academic, grandad and writer.

The protagonists: An insecure manic depressant, and a pretty boy.

Character: A confused boy with a heart of flames.
Story: Utopian, turning a hero into the enemy tale.

• Middle-aged, affable, naive former knight helps youngster
• Caring, practical restauranteur embarks on adventure

• Young professional in dead end career battles incompetence - (with superpowers I might add, so not actually as boring as it initially sounds!)
