I am rereading A Game of Thrones is there any specific part anybody would like me to loo kfor if so let me know...I am looking for some stuff as well

well elt me know if u are looking for something in it

The Tower of Joy is always interesting, though that may not be in aGoT,
Besides that i kinda like the maester Marwyn reference in one of the danaerys chapters.

I am almost finished with AFFC, and I may start over again with AGOT - unless ADWD is released soon.

Oh, let's not start THAT discussion about ADWD again...I'll only say that it will be sometime in 2008.

LOL, sorry if that's a 'forbidden' topic. I'm fairly new here, but I will learn

...I'll only say that it will be sometime in 2008.

A couple of weeks ago I asked someone working in a bookstore for a release date for ADWD and was told March....

... but they didn't seem very confident about it. So, it was probably just a guess on their part.

TK-421: Let me see your identification.

Boazi-Won: [with a small wave of his hand] You don't need to see his identification.

TK-421: We don't need to see his identification.

Boazi-Won: These aren't the noobs you're looking for.

TK-421: These aren't the noobs we're looking for.

Boazi-Won: He can post regarding ADWD.

TK-421: You can post regarding ADWD.

Boazi-Won: Move along.

Stormtrooper: Move along... move along.

Slyde Skywalker: I don't understand how we got by that trooper. I thought we were dead.

Boazi-Won: The BOAZ can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.

Unfortunately the BOAZ does not work offline. It cannot influence Mr. Martin. But I for one will wait patiently for ADWD. Books are like spaghetti sauce, the longer it cooks the better it tastes.

Also, if GRRM had cranked out all seven books in seven years, then none of us would be here. The periods between the books has given us time to talk, theorize, and revel in the sublteties!

Bravo Boaz, Bravo! I agree, I am also awaiting ADWD patiently (granted I haven't had to wait as long as all of you yet) :D

I sort of feel funny of all of a sudden. Must that Jedi Mind Trick. Either that or I really need to stop hanging out at the Mos Eisley Cantina...Except that stormtrooper was my clone, KT-142...

Really, I innocently was trying to head off any smart allicky comments about "...when will ADWD be finished? Will GRRM die before then. I have lost my interest in the series. I'm just a fairweather fan..." You know, eh?

LOL, thanks for the assistance Boaz !!!

"Slyde Skywalker" - must be Luke's distant cousin ;)

TK, thanks for taking it in the intended spirit! I love your name, it has tremendous possibilities for SW references. I also love your tagline... I Do Not Sow... I chuckle everytime I read it.

Boaz and TK-421 sitting in sleezy motel S L E E ....
I have a feeling i'm gonna get trashed for this comment.

I can wait for ADWD because there's loads of other good books to read in the meantime. HOWEVER while I waited patiently for 5 years for AFFC, I was somewhat dismayed to find that it was more of a side-dish than the promised feast. I had waited 5 years to find out what happened next to Tyrion, Jon and Dany. I didn't really care to the same extent what happened to Cersei, Brienne and the Ironborn
This was not a problem, as GRRM told us that he had 600 ms pages complete, with the rest in partial chapters, drafts and note form. We would only have to wait another year for the second half, and I was fine with that.
Now it sounds like he's rewriting the whole thing again - hence my increasing frustration.

Still, I don't complain, because 1. I know it will be worth waiting for, and 2. This is nothing next to the amount of time I've been waiting for Ricardo Pinto to finish his Stone Dance of the Chameleon trilogy. Now that has been a long wait between books...

After waiting for seven hundred years for the finale to the Greek epic trilogy, Virgil decided to finish Homer's story for him.

Well, my own reread is going pretty slow now that I've hit the chapters where Eddard makes mistake after mistake after mistake. It's so frustrating to me. This time around I'm finding it harder to believe that Ned would make some of these mistakes. I mean, he has his ridiculous "honor" but he's not stupid. Some of the things he's doing are just stupid. Why tell Cersei anything at all? Why not tell Robert about his children right there on the deathbed? He takes his honor to the extreme with the first case and completely ignores it on the second case. I'm just not buying it.

I think I really don't like most of the Starks. Pretty much only Jon and Arya are worthwhile. Bran? I've always found his chapters boring. I've always hated dreams sequences in books and pretty much the only thing he can do is dream.

Anyway, I'm at the next Eddard chapter and completely dreading what he's going to do next :(.

Viz, welcome to the "What the heck was Ned thinking Club." Get ready for Aegon to come down harsh on you... after your 18th post. Until then you are safe.

Bahaha...he's [Boaz] actually right you know....Im almost frothing at the thought of waiting 16 more posts.....

Ahh who am I kidding, I too actually thought the going to Cersei thing was ludicrous. I think Wert and I hashed it out previously, I was thinking it was underestimating ones opponent and therefore a misstep, and he felt it was a move neccessitated by Neds sense of honor and therefore he wouldnt be Ned if he hadnt (forgive me if I misparaphrase Wert).

But we'll have to hear more about his "mistakes" from you Viz. If only so I can take notes and prepare for your 18th post.
