Yes, we should keep people alive ust so we can enjoy the benefits of the hard labor. Oh, wait, does that sound twisted?

Anyway, someone had responded to my own impatience with the insight ISOIAF being a "burden." And yes, it must be a great burden. Writing the way GRRM does must be such a tedious process. HE know where he's going, but he's getting us there with grace. If I change my mind about what I want to do a hundred times, no one may care (except my patient husband), but for an artist.... Imagine the pressures! I certanly cannot. If GRRM just decides to "change his mind" and get a new career and a new passion, would he be forgiven? Tough burden.

If GRRM did put aside his burden though the people who would forgive him are more than likely the people he's carrying the burden for. Why should he continue on for people who care not about him but only his writing?

I'd like to think if he did throw in the towel his avid audience would wish him well even if we did grumble and b*tch about not being able to finish the story.

Well best of health to the man him self.

I just readed about Mance Rayder's execution and was really disappointed. About Mance Rayder, I mean. He died like a little sissy girl. All those screaming "I'm not a king, please don't burn me" or "OK,OK - I bend the knee!" It was really lame. I myself on his position could be even worse of course, but he was a wildling and wildlings suppose to be tough guys. And if he was so stubborn with Stannis, what else did he expect? A group hugging and friendly dinner? No, he deserved his fate. For attacking his former brothers, I, in place of Stannis should done with him the very same thing what they do with freshly made earthen pots.
And Melisandre's 'kingburning mania' gets annoying too. I bet she's ready to burn even Larry King,just because his name.

I only hope they are fake, or rather, unfinished/unrevised versions because so far Dany's chapters seem pretty boring. I'm most looking forward to her chapters so it would be disappointing if they started competing with Bran's chapters for Most Tedious. However, it could just be the summaries themselves that make it boring. Not a ton of high-powered action happened in AFFC yet I thoroughly enjoyed that book. GRRM's actual words will be much better than a summary.

Yes, it would better to skip Dany chapters entirely than watch her slow progress. It's better to be mysterious than boring.

Heh, I won't even skip Bran's chapters even though I hate them . Well, I did skip one of his chapters during my reread but only because I knew that absolutely nothing happened in that chapter. It was the one where they find that tower to hide out in.

I mean skip writing them, not reading them. It's better for GRRM Martin to let us wonder and start to forget as Dany is amassing her forces, and then "BOOM" something great happens!

Personally, I haven't enjoyed the last few chapters as much, but it is nice to see her thoughts toward people change and learn to become a governess. We get to see the journey. Or the journey before the journey. I like that. Her brother was too haughty to learn anything and take correction.
