Please tell me what I've failed to overlook, I really would like to know. You'd not be spoiling anything for me.
I am about 200 pages along in AFFC. By no means am I an expert. It's apparent than many who post in this forum have re-read and studied these books in depth. Until I complete AFFC I have been mostly avoiding this forum because of all the speculating and in-depth spoilage that goes on in these threads.
It is my understanding that many believe that Jon Snow is not the ******* son of Ned Stark, but is really the son of Ned's sister Lyanna and prince Rhaegon (sp?). There may even be other theories. This is based upon how Ned refers to Jon as his blood, but not his son. There are other clues to this I'm sure I have missed in my first rather quick run through this series.
I have noticed the books are tightly interwoven, and foreshadowing and rearshadowing, if that's not a word it should be, are subtle.
I'm looking forward to reading the theory/speculation about this series that goes on in this forum, but want to be through the first four books first. I'm thinking there may be some aspects to the story that make you slap your forehead and say, "doh, how did I miss that", after they are plainly pointed out.
I hope that's a start for you. If I'm way off on this, I sure one of the experts gives you some better info.
