I have a trifling random question, though it's more of a poser with no definitive answer.
While recently re-reading the strain of Arya chapters with the Hound (my favourite partnership of characters by a million miles) I found myself wondering on the following:
After the Red Wedding and the morning after Arya has the dream of Nymeria dragging Catelyn's corpse from the river, she and Sandor are eating a meal when Sandor starts saying, "About your mother..."
It kills me that Arya cut him off right there, saying something to the effect of "nevermind, I know she's dead. I saw it in a dream."
Is it possible that Sandor was actually about to say the unthinkable - "I'm sorry"?
I'm not sure what else he might've said and I realize the set-up of "about your mother..." might lead to some abusive responses regarding Catelyn, but I love the fact that, if he was about to apologize, a hard-as-nails ten year-old girl saved him the trouble. Suggestions anyone?
