Well he had to be to make the impression that he was a Roldemish noble (like all the other roldemish nobles were)

That's a good point...but the trouble is he kept his big-headed attitude for a while after Roldem as well, in my opinion anyway. Still, he seems quite a nice guy in the latest series, so I've changed my mind over the books :p

NAKOR, gotta choose a philosopher over anyone else. No seriously Nakor is one of my favourite charchters from any fantasy series anywhere, by anyone. the humour, the oranges, the bag, the staff, the fighting prowess, the orange garments and the individuality.

In fact it's prolly a tie between him, Elyas and Al'Lan Mandragoran from WoT and Quorin (spellage) halfhand and from ASoIaF.

Its hard to pick a favorite,I have found that the favorites happen as I read each new book.Nakor rocks! Jimmy is sooo cool,Miranda is yummy!LOL So I guess I'll pick Kaspar Duke of Olasko,he handled his exile well,he was also a good villian.

I like Arutha. He just seemed really cool. I'm currently reading Silverthorn for the first time in like seven years and quite enjoying it.

Jimmy The Hand was my favourite. Down to earth, cheeky and streetwise!

I prefer Jimmy the Hand as James Duke of Krondor. When did he get to be DUke of Krondor

I think it was some time before Shadow of a Dark Queen and the end of King's Buccaneer. The changeover was definitely not in any book

Ah, thanks for that Nixie. I remember myself now. It was Arutha's death that prompted James to be Duke and Nicholas Prince.

I've read through to Shards of a Broken Crown from memory and there were so many characters I really liked but in the end I ticked Arutha. Similar to what I posted in a which character would you be thread he's a middle child, who seemed to get a nice balance between responsibilities and privilage growing up thinking he would never rule, had some great adventures whilst young enough to enjoy them, found the love of his life and raised a happy family whilst earning the respect of a nation. What a guy :)

For one not on the list I also always liked Laurie.

Captain/Admiral Amos Trask. Didn't he keep getting stabbed in the stomach? Or maybe it was just once and they kept joking about it.
