Has anyone else wondered whether pug and thomas will eventually die, and if so how? I was rather dissapointed how arutha died. Greatest hero in the west and he doesn't even die fighting. Anyway does anyone have any ideas?

Pug will die at the end of the 5th Riftwar. Tomas...I'm not sure. I believe Tomas won't be much help in the future and may just die of old age, whenever that will be

Is that your opinion on Pug, Fake or have you read it somewhere?
With regards to Thomas, he hasn't really had a major part in any of the books after the 1'st Riftwar, which is a shame as I quite like the idea of a Valheru flying about on a golden dragon. Maybe he'll take part in the war against the Dastai?
Will he die? Eventually all die, but I would like to think both Pug and Tomas will die saving the world or something, they deserve a hero's death.

Tomas is mortal, so will die of old age even if he does survive the riftwars. Pug will probally die tring to stop the fifth riftwar

Read it...it didn't say this exactly but it said he'd survive until the 5th Riftwar, where I suppose he'll die judging on the words of Lims-Kragma (spelling?)

Tomas is mortal although he has a very long life span. As for Pug he was told he would die at the end of the 5th riftwar but I seem to recall later he was told this was no longer case.

everyone keeps on saying 5th riftwar I thought there was only 4, the riftwar, great uprising, serpentwar and the darkwar

We have only seen three yet: the Riftwar, the Serpentwar and the Darkwar. Ray says he's going to make two more series so these will be the fourth and fifth riftwars

One of them is called the Gods war I read somewhere I think,,,, Might have missed that though.

Something that always p*****d me off about a lot of fantasy was the way all heroes died heroic deaths. I mean, I can see Tomas tripping when he falls out of bed and dieing as a result of stress, induced by a severe fracture.

:D Pug getting his hair caught in a drill would be a good one...if they had drills that is

to the original poster:

Dude, a spoiler warning would have been nice, I think I am not the only one here who didn't know that Arutha was going to die.

doomed: its ok you dont really see any more of him after the end of the Krondor books, he just gets a coind (excuse the pun lol) in message saying the prince of krondor (arutha) died from complications because he fell and broke his hip. he was around 80 when he died anyhow, its not that much of a big deal imo. the last you read of him is in Krondor: Tear of the gods (or was it Prince of the blood) meh anyhow you dont "see" him die you just hear it mentioned in SoaDQ (serpantwar saga).

Back top the original poster: I dont know weather Pug will die or not but the final book of The Chaoswar Saga is called Magicians End, make what you will of that.

Well the title, Magician's End, has just made my hypothesis about Pug a little better.

There are any number of magicians who could come to an end, it was so hard to loose nakor, not pug.....

My sentiments exactly.

However, I think it is most likely refering to Pug, but, 'end' doesn't always indicate death!

Actually, it could just be a play on words saying that it is the last Midkemia book. 'Magician' is the start so the whole storyline is at an end? Maybe not, but it is another solution

seeing as Pug will see everyone he loves die before him he will die at the end of the last book when the universe collapses in on itself ;)
