Tomas' problem was: he was trying to keep Bek alive. I got the impression he could have killed him several times but Bek was too good to be disarmed by Tomas' swordplay.

That might just have been me, it's been a while. With Calis - wicked warrior but I always thought the bow was his first choice weopon. Bek and Tomas lived by the sword.

Yeah. It's hard to say with Calis because he has both speed and strength. Infact all of them have. It'd be a long and painful fight before someone would come out the winner.

its tough cos they've both seen a fair bit of action, DJ 's been around and learnt from Arutha but i'd probably go for Eric cos of his soildering background.

Some Where back is saw Borric mentioned so i thought Borric and Erland Vs Borric and Erland ( Grandfathers vs Grandsons) but i wasent sure about Erland Sr being much of a fighter

Well since the thread has already been revived, I don't see a problem with posting=P

What the majority of you are forgetting about Erik is that he is an excellent soldier, and an excellent fighter in a mass melee, but i doubt he posseses the finess to best many of the people he is matched up with.

As for pug vs leso, you're forgetting that pug also had to protect hundreds of citizens of kesh, and the book even mentioned that they had to coordinate a defense, whilst leso could lash out randomly.

I'd like to see:

Later stage bek vs tomas

Nakor vs Pug or Nakor vs Miranda, or Nakor vs Tomas!
Besides, I wouldn't dismiss pug and tomas' speculation of Nakor being the most powerful magician on midkemia
