April is for Arthur

You're fantasy, he's relatively hard SF. Possibly not "A fall of Moondust" or "Imperial Earth"

How about "Childhood's End"?

My son had to choose a European author for his high-school English class. I gave him several British works to consider. He chose Rendezvous with Rama. Clarke will continue to inspire new generations for many years to come.

Cheers, Arthur.

I've read almost nothing by Clarke. Any suggestions on where to start in terms of novels?

Childhood's End is a good starting point, but if you prefer short stories, The Other Side of the Sky is a great anthology.

Can't believe i missed this post about my favourite author! I was just too freaked at the time of his passing to read any of his stuff. I'm currently waiting for a copy of Islands in the Sky to turn up. Not read that one.
