Final lines....

And then a whistling, much like the one that had haunted me for the past week, echoed throughout the house, filling every room with a chilling reminder of what was to come.

But I wasn't done yet.

I wasn't exactly sure exactly what was supposed to happen now - so I just shook my hand, said goodbye to myself, and left me there, speechless. Perhaps I'll meet myself again sometime, farther down the road - but then again, maybe not.

I then climbed to the roof of my home and exclaimed, "I'll never use gasoline to start my grill again!"

And so, that's what happened. I won't say that the long journey wasn't worth it, even though the thief just barely slipped my grasp, because I felt that all the things I experienced along the way taught me things about myself that I probably would have never otherwise learned. Whether or not those things are worth knowing, well, I don't know.

But I do hope that someday, I'll get my teeth back.

Godzilla had left Japen again, my eyes scanned the wreckage of the city I was born in, I smiled. The great beast has given opportunities for more employment.

Finally - FINALLY - everything was back to normal. Except for the extra leg sticking out of my back at a 59 degree angle. And that 59 degree angle was very important...

After it all, all the blood, sweat & tears as martinis go, I'd had better.

After I hacked up the last of the terrible triffid monsters with an ax, I went back to pruning my garden.

Love John Wyndham!

And no matter what they told me, I still couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that I was dead.

Love John Wyndham!

I've been of fan of the 1963 movie since I was a kid. Great monster movie.

I was relieved after the verdict was spoken, "Not guilty". The media had a field day talking my ten year imprisonment on false charges that the Easter Bunny's half human child was mine.

Twelve million dollars was awarded to me, and I went back to livng peacefully on Easter Island.

I watch you sleep and I know I am blessed. No remorse, no fear, everything is whole again. Thank you my love.

I crested the hill to see the sun setting in the horizon. Smoke rose in the distance in most directions. I was sure that I was seeing mankinds last sunset. As the sun disappeared in its entirety, I lit a candle in the pale moon. Hoping it would be enough to light my way; tonight and forever I started to walk.

Father Christmas just smiled a chilling smile. "I told you there was no such thing as God", he said.
