Mr. Emu Tutorials: Lesson 1 - The Basics *Web Design*

CSS and style sheets are lovely, but there are still (or, there were at one time) browsers that won't read them. Netscape, I think, was one that wouldn't (tho it loves frames, don't ask me why).

I ended up not using style sheets for a long time (still don't, as of now) b/c it wouldn't render in certain browsers, which is kind of a pain. Might change that up next time I redesign my website. ;) [[ who knows when THAT will be ]]

I always use tables, not CSS. Then again, I'm waiting to learn about style sheets when Len begins his tutorial. I'll probably still use tables anyway. :D

Ths is an excellent thread Lenny. You should be congratulated!

In fact the whole idea of having a technology FAQ section is a good idea and adds another whole level to Chrons.

Leisha - I use tables *and* CSS. All the CSS on my site goes into the header section - it defines things like colors on the page. I also use div layers. ;)

I'm not very good at javascript, or I'd use a js menu.

I'm a very lazy coder, so I tend not to do things that are too involved. *g* Though I attempted ASP once, but the form code wouldn't work the way I wanted it to. :(

I combine tables with stylesheets, too. And you'll be surprised how easy a Javascript menu actually is.

Right, onto the second tutorial, methinks.

Oh, and thanks, Gollum. :D
