Thomas M Disch

Saw this thread the other day - I had no idea he was dead.

I haven't read as much Disch as I would like and had recently set aside a collection of stories called Under Compulsion for reading.

RIP.
 
334 is an odd novel; certainly not for everyone -- but I found it to be a compelling read; I really need to get a replacement for my lost copy.....:(

Of course, Disch also wrote a lot of other types of material, including Clara Reeve, which he wrote as Leonie Hargrave... he had a penchant for such literary connections being used in odd ways....
 
I preferred 334 to Camp Concentration. I've always been paranoid about apartment living, so perhaps that's why (Ballard's High Rise plays very well to my phobias in this regard). I have copies of The Genocides, On Wings Of Song and The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of waiting to be read. All in good time!
