Predictions for the Lannisters

Oh for Pete's sake! Can't I just post what the masses have believed forever without having to actually bother with the facts? I'm a right good Protestant, I am.

It did not matter that Mary I had a more pacific reign than her illustrious/notorious father, the Yorks, the Lancaster, and the Angevin and Normans. In fact, Mary's may have been the least temestuous and least volitile reign of an English monarch up to that point. But that's not the point, is it? No. The way to create a positive feeling towards your candidate is by labeling the predecessor as bloody.

Oh, wait! Should I have put a smiley at the beginning of my post?

Well, TSW, my dad taught Shakespeare and my brother is "Venerable", so please forgive me a some anachronistic speech! You can always google "taking the veil" though, the awesome Jacqueline Carey got it from somewhere! Point it out if I use the words like posset or hey nonny nonny, because I might!:)

Exactly, Boaz, ahem, and Guinevere became an Abbess...Never thought of that connection but its a good one, Lancel and all that.

Trivia. Anne Boleyn tried to have her sentence of execution commuted to living in a nunnery. Henry was "merciful" and let his wife be decapitated rather than burned at the stake as a witch, and adulteress. She was obviously a witch because she miscarried a few times, and was sexually attractive, yet Henry had some potency problems. The adultery and incest charges were pure bull. Maybe GRRM got a few ideas from that story for Cersei. He totally raids history for ideas, in the best possible way.

I think Cersei could cause a lot of mischief in the Silent Sisters. Seems scary to me! Or maybe just when she is developing a conscience(now that is a very remote possibility), someone will off her.

TK, Elizabeth rocks too!

Could Cersei avoid execution by retiring to an Abbey? Mayhaps she'd think she could use it as a new seat of power...

It's interesting that Cersei was the one who told Eddard something like "when you play the game of thrones, you either win or die." Would she expect the mercy of being allowed to live out her days as a nun? Then again, she did allow Eddard the option of taking the black...

Boaz, pete's sake or not, I would challenge your notion that Mary Tudor's reign had been the least temestuous or volatile up to that point. Have you forgotten about Wyatt's Rebellion who marched an army in support of Elizabeth from Kent before being finally defeated at the gates of London.
Wyatt's rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then there was that little incident with the Duke of Suffolk (Charles Brandon's son) and his daughter Lady Jane Grey.

Anyways, Mary was paranoid and couldn't trust most of her advisors.

I am a good Roman Catholic, I am but I agree Eulalia that Elizabeth rocks as well (because she is very much her mother's daughter). Now, her reign is not called the Golden Age for nothing.

Back to fantasy:
Cersei as a nun. HA!

I think all the Lannisters could develop a conscience given the right incentive...like the threat of execution. And they'll be very sincere about it, for as long as they have to. :)

To have forgetten Wyatt's Rebellion would mean that I actually knew about it in the first place. Hey, I just like to appear to be knowledgable. That way all the newbies continue to post things like "Boaz, You're the best"... so don't bother me with the facts, TK.

HA!

Ooohh, Boaz, you rock!!! Can I sit beside you and carry you school bag? Like, your resin statue paintings are sooo cool!!!! You remind me of that guy in 40-Year Old Virgin. Like, he was so awesome!!!

Ouch...

If Cersei could become High Septon she would definitely try to become a septa, but since there's no clear path to power that way I think she'll keep trying to hold onto the throne.

TK, it hits a little too close to home...

tsw, Cersei has not figured out what Tywin, Olenna, Doran, Baelish, and Varys know... namely that the title does not matter in the end, only power matters. I'm not saying titles are useless, far from it. The titles of King, Hand, Regent, or Queen do not necessarily denote who truly rules. Littlefinger may never be King, but that does not mean he'll never rule. I think Cersei is enamored with ultimate power, but is disillusioned that her power must necessarily disappear when she relenquishes the titles of Queen and Regent. If she were a little more long term in her vision, she could rule quietly through Tommen for the next twenty years while merely being Queen Mother.

Can't remember how it went, but doesn't Jaime have a dream about a Silent Sister?

Ok I know I'm quite late stumbling into this discussion but I figured I would join and throw in my two cents.

Jamie's fate I believe that he will go to Sansa getting her out of Petyr's hands (never trusted him ) and in this will redeem himself atleast somewhat.

Tyrion I truly have no idea other than I think that he will become somewhat like the Hand to the king but for Dany

Cersi's fate I believe that she may yet win free from her imprisonment with being condemned similar to the take the black option, Yet I believe that she will try to flee everything possibly with her Mountain (or franken mountain as some are calling it) But I can see her coming face to face with Stoneheart (I'm thinking that she would pass over Jamie for a chance at Cersi). I can also see Sandor being part of Stonehearts group (As another Berric) to finish off the Mountain once and for all probabally letting him die in peace.

If Sandor finished off Cersei, then, well, he is a "little brother"!

does anyone find the greyjoys immensely boring? with the kingsmoot? I wish george wouldve skipped to deanerys

Welcome, serdontos. The Greyjoy POVs were not boring to me... it's just that they were not what I wanted to read.

Welcome, kev. I don't see Cersei going quietly. Of course, anyone else would be thrilled to escape with their head, but not Cersei. She's the one who told Eddard something like, "When you play the game of thrones, you either win or die."
