Is it just me or...?

That's all it was...an opinion.
I suppose I could contradict myself and try some maturer Fiest; saying that I have read Faerie Tale and enjoyed it.
I think it's necessary to have grit in the sandwich of fantasy or it's just teenage fiction if not done correctly.

I really believe that if you liked Faerie Tale then you will definately enjoy some of his later work even if you didn't like Magician. Try and give the rest of the Riftwar Trilogy a read, those being Silverthorn and A Darkness at Sethanon.
If you still don't enjoy them then i'd suggest giving the Empire Trilogy a go. Co-Wrote with Janny Wurts and is an extremely good read. Like me, you may find you've discovered a new author:D

On t'other hand I'd say skip the riftwar and read the Serpentwar Saga which, IMNSHO, is much better and you should still be able to follow it. Then again, quite probably you'll never like Feist, possibly better going with an author you already enjoy?!

Or ya could try that:D
