Michael Crichton dead at 66

He may not have been the best Science Fiction author but he attracted a mainstream audience to Science Fiction and caused some pretty decent Science Fiction movies to be made. Before his stuff there was very little middle ground. A few very good ones, a few decent films, and a whole lot of crap. I'm not awestruck very often but I still like to see a movie more often than once a year. I like a decent amount of "Airport Reading" and decent movies. They make the good ones better and you don't have to put up with the garbage. I've read aound a dozen of his books and seen at least that many of his movie projects and I was never bored with them.

I havent read him yet but i planned to since i have enjoyed some of the movies created by his work.

I think its sad when they go young and in this way. I feel for his friends and family.

Also his fans i know the hurt of losing someone that you enjoy reading.
