Your First Time

I read my first book at the age of 13 the idea of reading seamed so alien so I did not bother now if I do not read it seams Alien the first book I read was LOTR which I though was ok it took me about 8 months to read but that was not the book that maid me want to go out to look for books it was The Redemption of Althalus By David and Leigh Eddings, I thought it was great After that I robed all my Dads old fantasy books and read them now I am scouting every time I am out for some thing new to read

My 'first time' was a Dragonlance book called The companions I think...
Although if we are being technical the first fantasy book I ever read was Enid Blytons 'The Magic Faraway Tree'.

Well I read Hobbit and Narnia first.. not sure which one was the first, but I was about nine years old. After that, I read much of Eddings, Dragonlance and Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton & many others, I remember that my favourite book at that time was "The Dragonflight" by Anne McCaffrey.
I began to read by myself at the age of 5, but then I read mostly fables, they were a kind of introduction into the fantasy genre, I think.. especially ie the Polish ones featuring rusalkas and many other creatures whose names I don't know how to translate, and the Eastern , Oriental ones with dragons and rahdzas... I adored them!
