The Skinner

I have yet to read one of your books but all the reviews are great. I guess I grew up in the 70's and have not caught up with the new stuff yet. I have The 'Skinner' and 'Gridlink' and will try one soon.

thanks.

The Skinner's the only one I've read so far - and it was the new cover that caught my eye (the guy who served me in Waterstones said it was "a great book with an awful cover" - go figure!). Anyway, I loved it, and shall definitely be reading more - I have Shadow of the Scorpion in my TBR pile at the moment :)

I thoroughly recommend "The Technician". An absolutely superb read and one of the best books i've read in a while.

I've just read this and thought it excellent probably my favourite Polity book so far. Totally loved Sniper and I could just picture that "grin" of his!

With regard to the cover I absolutely agree with you Neal! I bought this as an ebook and frankly the covers don't display desperately well, which usually doesn't matter but in this case it is a shame! Once the Skinner was revealed in his full glory (gory?) I had to dive on the net and pull up a decent image of the cover. And guess what? It was exactly as I pictured him right down to the wings. Superb creature and a superb cover! :D

It was the cover that caught my eye and drew me to the book in the first place (it was the first of Neal's books that I read). Love it, and the covers of Neal's books in general, so much so that I am gradually buying all the paperbacks rather than going for the Kindle versions :)

Just last week I recommended this book to one of my friends - it'll be interesting to see if he likes it or not!
