I have Conqueror's Moon and haven't finished it yet after years on the shelf, but I did love her Galactic Millieu series which starts with The Many-Colored Land. That series had been read and reread many times and you might give it a try.

Thanks Murphy, I just looked it up on Amazon and it sounds pretty interesting. Unfortunately they don't have it at the library here, but I will check the used bookshop.

192 pages into Singularity Sky, I've given up on it and will say that I've given it a decent try.

Now, unsurprisingly, onto Small Favor. Yay, Dresden!

Finally ordered "Rides a Dread Legion" by Feist...looking forward to reading it

I'm just starting Memories of Ice. There's a new revelation almost in every page turn, it just gets beter and better.

Now reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson. It's a mystery story set in Sweden by a Swedish author.

Heh i wonder what you will think of it. The female character is soo too good to be true for me to ever read it. If you like Da Vinci code,Jack Reacher stuff you will like it.

Funny how a guy that wasnt even in top 20 crime authors in Sweden when he was alive, wrote the books became second best selling author in the world in 2008 and the best in europe.

First time or a re-read, Tal?

Oddly enough, it's the first time for Guards! Guards!, and I loved it. I'm reading them as I find them, rather than in order, but it's not diminishing the experience for me.:)

I'm currently reading Pratchett's Soul Music, and it's pretty good so far.

Reaper's Gale was a bit of a let-down in the end, not least because so many things got brutally ended very quickly - and i felt Erikson's writing wasn't quite as good as some of the earlier volumes. hmm. 6/10, may get better on a full re-read.

So far, it's better than both. What I read in Wiki was that Larsson hadn't planned on publishing the books. He was writing for his own amusement. Of course that's Wiki and they don't always get thing right.

Still reading Gibson's Burning Chrome, but interspersing it with some PKD shorts from Minority Report. I think this collection was brought out to coincide with the movie, but they've put a few other stories that sort of made it to the big screen. We Can Remember It For You Wholesale has a much more interesting turn than the Total Recall did.

Who wrote Minority report and total recall?

Finished I Am Legend. Moving onto 'The Séance', so far very good, but very creepy.

Im reading This Immortal by Roger Zelazny. Its very well written that i wish i wasnt book hauls broke and could go buy another Zelazny. Amber books or something.

Yet another reason to come and work for me in the world's greatest City....;) If you haven't read Amber you're missing out big time.....:eek:

Do Androids Dream of Electric SHeep is the only one of his books I've read so far. Should read more...

Just chatted to my brother, who came over to raid my books. It turns out a book I brught recently that I thought was awful and couldn't finish, he also thought the same, if I'd known that, I wouldn't have wasted my money on it in the first place, just borrowed his to find out how bad it was. Gah.

I will get that new collections of his i heard about when next time i go for big book haul. I want Amber first book/stories,Devlish stories first.

By the way i saw you mention The Last Watch by Lukyanenko in book hauls thread. I didnt even know you are a fan of the series. Which i assume since you bought The Last Watch ;)
I adore the series so far for different take on the urban fantasy, supernatural elements. Its not the usual action oriented urban modern urban fantasy. Shame more works of Luyanenko arent translated.

You can get all 10 books of Amber in a single volume what is often referred to The Great Book Of Amber (although the first 5 books available via Fantasy Masterworks is the superior section of the series). I've got both of those publications and AMBER is one of the greatest EPIC series of all time. I've got some other Zelaznys and a couple of anthologies written in his honour. A superb writer as I think you are discovering.

I'm sure there will be more Lukanyneko books published into English. He is currently working on a new novel that will be a Space Opera. I like his books and the movies to date very much too.

Cheers.....:)
