Can any one replace Hugh Jackman?

A few years ago Tom Hardy would have been a good option (and apparently Hugh suggested it) but now they could perhaps look for some newer blood in their 30s. There must be some gruff actor around who could do it.

While I like the way Jackman looks in the part, he has played the most childish, dysfunctional and useless Wolverine possible.

Another actor playing the mysterious, competent, confident, well connected and blasé character of the comics could put an entirely different mark on the character.

Everybody I can think of that would be interesting is already old. Zachary Quinto would have had a good look.

Also too old, but someone like Scoot McNairy of Halt and Catch Fire and True Detective would bring a tempest in the teapot thing to the role:

Jackman is a romantic leading man version. He's fine but he's not really the comic book character.

Bob Hoskins was considered in the 1980s or 90s. I can't picture him as Wolverine but I can see why he was floated as a possibility.
James Remar might have been a possible contender.

Charles McGraw is who I think of, especially in the cartoon version. He had the voice and intimidating gruffness. Someone similar to him but shorter.
