Who is your favourite WOT character?

I like Mat, although he annoyed me immenseley at first. I'm on book 10, which seems to be the most plodding so far. But, it remains enjoyable.

my fav is perrin u could probably tell by my user name that i also like elyas a lot too but ya out of the taveren perrin then mat then rand (ya ya don't yell at me so what is the dragon is last get over it)

Well, being a girl I'm going to say that I love Perrin (my dream man)!

Girliness aside, I really like reading Mat's story (although, similar to lunamoth I found him really irritating to start with) - I've just gotten to the book where he's kidnapped his future wife hee hee - very amusing!
I like Cadsuane - it's nice to see someone who can keep Rand at heel, and as odd as this may sound, I like Lews Therin too...

I have to confess: I'm not the biggest fan of Cadsuane, but I have to admire her strength. I feel that way about a lot of the female channellers, to be honest.

I think I posted in the other thread, but my favourites have changed as the series progressed. I won't post any spoilers, but now my favourites include Perrin and Mat, Nynaeve, Moiraine and Birgitte, and of course, Loial. By the end of Towers of Midnight, I'd changed my mind about a number of other characters, too; going from dislike to like.

Moiraine and Cadsuane are my favourite female characters. Out of all the Aes Sedai in the WoT, they come across as exactly how an "Aes Sedai" should be, if you get me!

I like most of the male characters with Mat probably being my favourite.

Gotta love Mat. At first he was a bit of a tool, but after a while he just grows on you and (for me at least) becomes the only character, apart from Rand, who you actually crave another passage about.

My favorite WoT characters are Perrin and Faile :)

I am glad you put a smiley on that post.

Perrin and Faile. you. have. got. to. be. kidding.

Thom Merrilin: not explored enough, a lot of hidden depths. Tuon is also becoming interesting (finally, after, like, five door-stopping books).

I'm surprised I'm the first to say it, but I like Thom the best. I always liked characters like that, that are so shrouded in mystery.

Shaggy, I think I said it on May 16th.:D

It's amazing that I can read a thousand page book and remember the plot, but miss the last sentence of a post directly above mine. :p

I must've just skimmed over it and thought it was a signature or something. Sorry about that.

Just yankin' yer chain, Shaggy. Welcome to the Chrons! If you haven't done so already, go introduce yourself at the Introductions thread.

Start the Insanity!

I'm going to say Min, if only because she's one of the few characters that seems to break out of those broad gender stereotypes Jordan loved so much (you know, all the male characters constantly expressing their cluelessness about women, all the female characters constantly getting exasperated at the cluelessness of the men...I'm exhausted just thinking about it). I like Loial too, from what I remember; I've only read up to about book 7 or 8.

Oh, and Elyas.

My favourite Wot character is Egwene, and Moiraine. But Moiraine is gone for a long time from the novels, so my favourite character is Egwene, I guess.

Ahhh so many good characters and so many 'planks' as well . . . .

I have always liked Matt, he reminds me of my self in some ways; but I have to admit there were books when he acted a right 'tool' as someone already noted.

I also like Morraine and Min as equal favorite in the female characters, I think they both break the mold from how RJ normally portrays women.

Two close runner were Lan and Morridin, Lan because I like brood characters and nothing more and Morridin because I always get the feeling that he is a kind of anti-villain.

I'd have to agree with you - Moridin would be a close runner up as a favourite for me, too. I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what his role is in A Memory of Light.:)
