And finally, I have to mention the final volume of Abercrombie's debut trilogy, i.e. The Last Argument of Kings. As well as being an excellent read in itself, there was much satisfactory tying up of things, including stuff the reader may not have even noticed needed tying. The pace increases, with plenty of fighting (battles and one-to-one) and more intrigue than one can wave a stick at. And plenty of black humour. As for the main ending: I won't say too much, but it's more than fitting for this fine trilogy of light and (mostly) shade. (I hope that doesn't spoil things for future readers.)

Highly Recommended.

And now, for 2010, Miéville's The City & The City.

I have started reading The Ten Thousand by Paul Kearney. A very talented heroic fantasy writer prolly finest of his generation. I really like his elegent prose most of all. It makes him stand out in that sense among the others of his subgenre........A writer that keeps growing with every book for me. Hope to read much more books of him in near future.
My New Year's resolution..to find another Kearney-like author for Conn in 2010....:p;) Have a good New Year.
