That is a fair assumption. HPL just tells a story from both sides. Satanism is something that we have forgotten and left in the past or else we carry it along without knowing. Here he clearly identifies that evil is striven for and granted directly. I'm not exactly sure how or why a person can read some of these stories repeatedly and get benefit, but it is the only way to proceed. I could say more about that. I'm almost ready for another one myself. It is plunder in words, but it should not be anything more than writing, but no, there is understanding, than it vanishes without a trace. If I put the book down I would never return even though I shall never read anything comparable. Amen, the secret is safe.
