The Audio versus the actual Book

Imp - It would be interesting to hear your comparisons between the two mediums if you ever did read the books, but I appreciate that it's a matter of overwhelming convenience for you.

Re: Ned. I'm sure Sean Bean's delivery in the series will be closer to how I imagined his voice and Braavosi has always struck me as being directly equivalent to eastern european/ middle-eastern nations. Then again, no two readings, actual or audio, are ever going to be the same for different people. In effect, there are as many versions of the books as there are people who have read or listened to them.

And thinking back on it, you may be right about Lee - I'm not 100% on whether or not the first version I tried was Lee, but thought it was. I could be wrong.
Well, I do read the books, just not from beginning to end. Often when looking for a quote, or now trivia question or answer, I'll just read passages, sometimes nearly an entire chapter. I agree that there's something to be said for print, but I really love the audio medium. I don't think it would matter a whole lot if I didn't have physical limitations.

I guess I'm a book-nazi at heart (re: the soup-nazi from Seinfield), "You vill read from ze page or not at all! No Song of Ice and Fire for you!":D

Yes, I'm very happy about this. I had put that announcement in the ADWD update thread the other day.

Isn't that a spelndid picture of Roy. He's pushing 90 if I'm not mistaken.

If "most knowledgeable" means verbose, pedantic, and self promoting, then that's me.
