Some of your favorite stories in the Writing Challenge -- NOT for voting.

Let's stick with it the way it is for a few months at least.

If we change it about all the time, we'll never get a settled format.

I like the current format, last time I checked three diffrent entries had three votes each and a few others had picked up one or two. Everyone has a chance to see the votes, so they can see if they picked up any (even if they didn't doesn't mean people didn't like their entry)

By the way: if one does include a map :))), do the words on it count as part of the total or are they treated as the words in the title are?

I'm talking about place-names, not an excuse to smuggle in the odd paragraph or two of text under the heading, Map Legend.

I'm only asking for clarification, you understand. :) (Ignoring any other considerations, a map can take months to do. But there again, I'm easily tempted.)

EDIT: The same question might be asked about indecipherable runes or similar, I suppose.

Someone here has a faulty mouse! Sometimes, when the power in a wireless, optical mouse is low, the cursor moves in a jittery and halting manner.

I don't know who you are, but when you were attempting to vote for one of the stories above, or the stories below, you clicked on my entry (clearly by accident).

No big deal. Just replace the batteries.

Well, Chriss' story was to the point, and I liked ' long hours weaving false hopes. ' Not going to make a list or anything, until most of the stories are up there, then read them all at once-ish.

Oh my gosh, three in a row--twisty, punny groaners. This is going to be a tough month! :)

(That count starts with ChrisP, of course...doesn't everything?)

A lot of similarities at the beginning, but then again a lot of think about those sort of things when it comes to the escape. However, at the moment I have two favourites and they are very controversial to other entries, and they are:

Chel's and Chris's stories (in that order).

BTW. Congratulation to Boneman for winning the last contest. And I noticed that someone posted a vote on my entry (thank you but I don't think it was that good).

Geez, good danged stories so far. I'm already beginning my list of ones to consider further and it's only been a day, people!

Amazing how similiar thoughts can be between people, huh, Book?

I do think this is shaping up to be another April. Day two and there's a full dozen entries......and I am anticipating far more as the month goes on.

Let me say that Boneman was my pick from almost the moment I read it last month. Great job there bones.

I'm breathlessly waiting to see if my 75 word story generates any PM's. From the quality of the writing and the vast differences in taste I doubt I get any votes. But, Seph, my fellow Viking fan. Good Job!

Goodness, over 20 in 2 days again. I love Sephiroth's Pandora poem, very Shelley-Keatsy-Romantic, and I'm astounded at how rich Teresa's piece feels, like a bright tapestry next to homespun. Others in the running as well, including Stormfeather, Crystal Haven, Culhwch and Talysia, but I keep changing my mind as to the leaders. I reckon it will be toss a coin time again come the end of the month.

So the rest of us are homespun, huh? Nice! (Never fear, I know what you meant....)

Thanks for the shout out! Always nice to know someone likes your work!

There are lots of puns? :):):);)

* Tries to think of a pun that Sherlock might have made. *

Some of us aspire to homespun...

A Holmes-pun -- his remark when he sees a yellow front door "Lemon entry, my dear Watson"...

I have to say that I haven't looked at any of the entries this time: as I've failed to think up an idea on this month's topic, I thought it better not to restrict my (so far pitiful) imaginings.

But it's great to know that so many folk have already produced their stories; I look forward to reading them in the not-too-distant future.
