MAY 2010 Writing Challenge -- Sephiroth wins a decisive victory!

Saturdays

To some I am Angel.
To others I am slave.
I have power to help.
And the duty to serve.

I am their first contact.
I take all their abuse.
Sometimes I really do wish
That they'd learn to read!

Hour upon hour I spend
Helping others with various things.
Cameras and phones, computer games
Not forgetting the tech support!!

At five the bell tolls
"...we have ceased to trade..."
And I escape my chains...

Escape!​

How long had it been? No more than five minutes surely.

"Wait here!" the attendant had said, closing the door.

How long ago was it really, he mused.

He wasn’t alone, although he would have preferred it given the company. He recognised most of them, no doubt some knew him, although they had been here longer. They just stared blankly in disbelief. Nobody spoke; they all knew the score.

The door opened.

Damnation!
