re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Grats to Seph on last month's, looking forward to seeing all of the entries this month!

Sitting in the Stockholm sunshine with my laptop out, thought I'd warm up for a stretch of afternoon writing and get mine out of the way early...

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Um... (after Googling Genesis 6:2) I'm going to say yes. Yes I did. :)

(I did think of you, Parson, after I posted that story!! Was a bit worried.)

Worried?! I'm sure you thought of those fire and brimstone posts that I'm so famous for.:D

Now you did notice what Genesis 6:2 led to??? If this story wasn't Fantasy I'd be afraid of the next deluge. :D

Not.....

The End

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Of course, I seem to have burned out after one entry...

Oh, Boneman, no! I was quite taken with your story this month, as well! Yours and Chrispenycate's were wonderful snapshots of our world here. I wandered around the house making "arrgh" noises and tearing my hair out over the entries for May, and was very sad that I couldn't acknowledge yours. Well, with a vote, I mean. Pounding on the table...more votes, more votes!

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Envy is a terrible thing. It might lead a person to cross a damnably good deserving entry off her short-list... :D :p

In mitigation, your Honour, the family cat punished my hubris by piddling on my laptop bag not an hour after I posted that.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Yes, MGIR had a good entry this month, but I do have to say already that I find Mouse's to be better. (Sorry about that, MGIR, it's just that Mouse's entry is a bit humorous to me and a nice little twist to it. :))

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

That is a heart-breaking story MGIR. And written very well.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

MGIR:

However you could capitalise on the experience by using it as the basis of this months challenge.

Laptop magically transformed into a pile of junk theme maybe.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Actually, TeiN, that would be MY theme. But it turning into a pile of junk could be easily explained. It's a Dell.

Actually, I already have an idea of what theme I would go with if I ever won. I'm not going to spoil it though. :p Unless someone chooses it on their own, in which case I would have to regroup and come up with a new plan.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Thanks for the kind comments all, and don't worry about upsetting me, Karn - I fully expect what quality I can present to be one-upped approximately forty more times over the course of the month. :D

Mouse's is good, indeed! Should we start taking bets on how much more darkly humorous and equally unrepentant her entries get in coming months? I've got 10p on her ending up as a script editor for Dexter by September...

And worry not, TEIN, the laptop survived - although a hand-bound notebook from Florence, sadly, did not.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Or maybe if they get a bit bloodier and not so humorous, she'll wind up writing for True Blood? :p

I'm still having to wait and see who to vote for though. It's only the second, after all.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

Wow. Too many people saying nice things about me in this thread! I gets embarrassed.

Like Karn says, it's only the 2nd today. I'm quietly confident that I'm gonna get trounced.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

I now have two stories, and have to decide which is the least trounce-able.

Or write a third.

But you, Miss Mouse, have a sassy little air about you. No wonder infatuated youths ply you with flowers.

re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- April, May, & June

I have no story yet, and no inspration, but I have a few things on my mind which is halting my creative process. On a better note, though, at least I'm writing my novel again after far too long of not!

I'm trying not to look at the entries until I come up with an idea.

Oh, and I half got your story, Teresa! I said to Seph that I thought the man was Death. I just didn't interpret that as suicide. Very good entry, indeed! And like the others, I LOVE that mermaid one. I like the ambiguity in the way it's written, although I did find it easy to understand. It works for me. :)

Edit: YAAAY! I wrote one! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally made up my mind and posted one of my two -- which, next month, will probably turn out to have been the wrong one.

I like yours a lot, Leisha.
