Okay, for Christmas I got a Laphroig (as per the book, it is a bit different, my wife says it smells like medicine, but I like it) and an Aberlour (which I have had before and thoroughly recommend.)
On the subject of petrol-head sf authors and 'Top Gear' - I have to agree that Iain Banks should appear. I'm watching 'Top Gear' on TV right now. I'd like to know in what camp other sf authors would stand - Neal Stephenson has said that although he comes from a family of petrol-heads, he is actually the black sheep of the family. I've no idea about any other authors.
