I Am Providence: The Life and Times of H. P. Lovecraft

I am so busy but I try to read a little in it every day. I find a wonderful psychological joy and peace of mind in just holding the book and knowing that, at last, we have the entire text, a text that S. T. went over entirely and updated, making this the definitive life of HPL for Yuggoth knows how long, probably for our lifetimes. Had dinner with S. T. last night, and he has given the all of the five copies Derrick sent him away, thus doesn't have his own copy of the book.

I was overjoyed to find the box by my mailbox. Opened the books and began digging in. So much more detail. My one complaint so far is the crap quality foil stamping (though not actually stamped, more like silkscreened) on the spine of the book. It's sad when such a nice book has had details like this skimped on. The typography is lackluster as well in some respects. But overall it's a beauty. I want to hide out in some mountain fastness for a few days and just read it. Photos are great as well.

I believe it has been mentioned in another thread, but just in case... the two-volume, uncut version of S. T. Joshi's biography is now available in trade paperback from Hippocampus Press:

Again, for those who found the shorter, Necronomicon Press edition of interest, there is nearly a quarter as much extra material here, allowing for a much broader and deeper look at the Gentleman from Angell Street....
