I pick up a complete series (secondhand) of hers called The Aldebreshin Compass series, starting with Southern Fire. The store owner sadi the woman who sold it to him said it was very good, is she telling the truth or have I wasted my cash?

I haven't read this specific series but Jules is always good value. I'd be amazed if the books didnt contain good character development, plenty of the expected action, plus deeper developments going on underneath as well. I would confidently predict you have yourself a bargain! :)

Thanks Ian, apparently it's an elaboration of a mentioned set of islands in another series but you do not need to read that series to understand this one. Darn I was stupid coz I saw your book at a new sales store but didn't get it, I wasn't really concentrating on it, I just saw it and said I know that name and I have seen that cover, and it is the one in your avatar. Must go look for it and get a copy :)

Definitely! I'd highly recommend that one too! :D

I've read all of them, and not just because I know Juliet.

Her books are excellent - superbly developed worlds, beautifully constructed plots and well-drawn characters. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

And if you like those, don't forget her first series - The Tales of Einarinn.
