Aye, aye! And the new thread is up! I tried to steer the competition on a slightly different tack this month...

Luckily for everyone ever I avoided the temptation to actually base a theme on that Godforsaken axis of song-evil, but you did give me an idea TJ...

Thanks Slow, it was a close run thing, so I'm more than chuffed, and Digs was an excellent story that deserved to win. (Hey I made the roll of honour )

Great theme as well Digs, I got a few ideas already, hopefully I'll be able to have a proper crack once I get over the little health issue that took me out on Sunday!

For some reason the lyrics to the Alice Cooper song, The Song that Didn't Rhyme just popped into my head and won't go!

Congrats on winning the tie-break, Digs. Great story. And I remember really liking your first one, about the wolf. (You might want to be sure to take the odd month off here and there ...)

Interesting theme too. I've never had two ideas in the first day before. I hope I picked the right one. I could have waited longer before choosing, but it does feel good to get my entry in before the month's even started. Now I can have the whole of February off.

Saying that, I think this might be the last month for me. Will still read and vote, but unless I get really inspired, I'm out. Like Leisha and Seph, I really should concentrate on my novel! (I bet the temptation to enter next month will probably win out though!)

As for my vote, it went to StormFeather. Others on my shortlist were J Riff, Hilarious Joke and Perp.

Ahem. And who is it not just the first day, out of the gates at sprint speed then? Is it a racehorse, is it a whippet? No, it's a fieldmouse.

Nice theme, digs. Not so dark as some of our past themes.
